Threcurltchi: Because Me and Kametchi both have Tama-Hearts in us!

Kametchi: and Eggification is the name of the curse or disease-like phenomena that plagues Tamagotchi Planet. The curse involves Tamagotchis turning into living eggs and losing all their personality, becoming a literal shell of their former selves.

Threcurltchi: Yep First Stage! An infected Tamagotchi will at first turn into a colored egg that still carries most of their significant physical features (such as Debatchi's egg having his hair and bucktooth). They don't notice that something is wrong with them and can still function normally, being able to talk and participate in usual activities. They can only move by hopping. The longer the Tamagotchi is in this stage, the more of their personality and individuality they'll lose. This is shown when Makiko no longer keeps up her rivalry with Memetchi and when all eggified Tamagotchis start wearing red bandanas.

Threcurltchi: Second Stage! The eggified Tamagotchi will lose its distinct physical features and instead just be the color that the Tamagotchi once was. By now, almost all personality is completely drained, but they will still perform activities. They can still talk, albeit in a monotone voice, and will be apathetic to everything. This stage is generally short and is almost extant once the epidemic is in full force.

Threcurltchi: and finally Third Stage! When the Eggification is its third and final stage, the Tamagotchi will turn into a plain white egg that cannot be distinguished from any of the others, and will change in size if needed. (For example, Telelin and Pashalin were tiny eggs, but they turned as big as ordinary eggs when they reached stage 3.) They will have no personality or sense of self and will be distanced from reality, not recognizing or caring about any of their friends. They generally don't talk, but when they do it's in a distorted, alien voice. They seem to only move in straight lines outside without purpose.
