Anything but the paradise
I love the uni model but I dislike how paridise doesn't even have tamagotchis genders anymore every character seems so bland now
WOW!! I feel the exact same bro!
The lack of gender and the characters themselves is my biggest beef with this one
How is gender an issue? All that does is affect breeding which is now not limited at all.
On previous color devices, breeding was locked to gender which could be annoying back then if you wanted to marry someone and they had the same gender tama as you (especially on the ON when you wanted to breed for a specific character trait). Unless you're talking about character designs being more neutral which I can understand.
@NightBladeSequel tbh, when you think of it, that just means less vairity of characters since they cant me to masculine or too femainine, Flowertchi was a rare exception... we aint getting charaters like Oyajitchi, Memetchi and Makkio...
They still had those types of characters though if you look at the vintage vpets and connections before the V4. The difference was either they had no gender or could be either.
I think it's more they went for simpler designs, ones that are more reminiscent of animals since you're meant to be a researcher exploring a new species. So you won't get characters wearing clothes or with extra design bits (though they still appear as NPCs on the device). If you're attached to those characters then I understand the disappointment. Though luckily, you can always go back to older color vpets if you want those characters/gameplay experience!
^^^^ I think they were aiming towards tamagotchi being a species rather than individual characters
i mildly dislike the paradise because theres no ringotchi 😞 ( ive never played it )
@NightBladeSequel its kind of bad because the characters are very bland, like I really liked orentchi's design because even though he was a male he had more feminine design, and I loved makiko's because I really like her sassy fem persona, but without the genders they juts make all the characters seem like they can't have too much personality or design. I just wish that they could of just added a bunch of nonbinary or genderfluid characters instead of making them all genderless. It would add more diversity. Also yeah what I liked about the older models was that each tamagotchi had more personality to them, but now they're just all plain animals that probably can't even talk. I really liked the old idea of them looking cutesy/simple but also being very intelligent and unique each in their own way.
Between the Pix and Uni, I'd say it's probably a tie for the most part but there are some differences I appreciate from both:
The Pix already has it's content installed and has a better base roster.
The Uni, while it has paid DLC, marks the debuts of some characters both new and new internationally (including Melodytchi!) as well as a gender-neutral character, so it avoids the lopsided rosters that the anime-era virtual pets had (base roster-wise).
Never tried the Pix party, but the QR codes are a bit better if you only have one unit meanwhile with the Uni, you're practically forced to have two units if you want to fill out the roster.
There's more stuff to do as toddlers and teens on the Uni than it is on the Pix.
Either way, the Pix and Uni are pretty close to each other, but the Pix has the better roster but there's more stuff to do on the Uni. Note that I haven't tried out the Pix Party, so unless I get that, I'll consider it a tie.
I don't have the Paradise or the Smart, but the Smart is basically the Uni but worse from what I've seen.
What do you think?
