Fashion! The Best? Eggs of Style (流行!サイコー?タマゴ化スタイル Ryūkō! Saikō? Tamago-ka sutairu) is episode 140 and part 1 of a four part episode series of Tamagotchi!.
Synopsis[]
The phenomenon of eggification becomes more widespread. Despite concerns, the Tamagotchi Research Institute announces that "There is no health hazard even if you become an egg" and "Eggified tamagotchi are still happy". Lovelitchi and Melodytchi notice that there are more vacant seats at their joint concert. The show goes on in "Tamamori Heaven", despite some of the crew becoming eggs.
Plot[]
The Mame Family exit the TamaDepa store and Chamametchi and Hapihapitchi point out all the eggified Tamagotchis, calling them "Egg-chan". Papamametchi tells them that they should call them by their actual names as they are still the Tamagotchis they were before they turned into eggs. The family walks home and stops to watch a TV showing Shikaitchi interviewing an eggified Bokutchi and Bosatchi. The two's voices are notably more monotone and express less feeling despite making jokes.
At Tamagotchi School, the boys are seen playing soccer with a few of them being eggs. In the flower garden, the girls are seen watering the planets with Memetchi, Makiko, and Flowertchi being assured with the eggified Pompomtchi and Nachuratchi acting normal despite their appearance. Uwasatchi runs in to tell them Professor Flask had turned into an egg, but becomes dejected upon seeing Pompomtchi and Nachuratchi, stating her news isn't as exciting anymore.
Meanwhile, the scientists at Mamemame Laboratory are discussing the egg phenomenon and trying to find ways to reverse it. Mamehakasentchi is called outside the lab for a statement on the phenomenon and he tells Shikaitchi that eggified Tamagotchis are okay and not in danger. He also adds that they are looking to reverse the effect and will update the news with their results. The scene changes to show Reportchi reporting on the eggification reaching Tamagotchi Town and becoming overwhelmed by eggified Tamagotchis wanting to talk to her.
That night, Lovelin and Melodytchi perform a concert. Telelin points out the empty seats in the crowd to Manenetchi and she responds that the eggified Tamagotchis seem to not be as interested in their music. The next day, Grippatchi teaches class and call upon Debatchi to read a section from a book. Debatchi has lost his tooth and is now just a yellow egg with no features. He reads in a monotone voice and Kizunatchi is seen sleeping on her desk. Outside, Chamametchi and Imotchi are surrounded by their eggified classmates. Kikitchi gets ready to race Atsuatsutchi, Sabosabotchi, and Bokutchi who have turned into featureless eggs. The three talk about how pointless it is to race for speed, wanting to just count their steps in the race which Kikitchi is confused by. Kikitchi wins the race, but is unnerved by the other three slowly hopping to the finish line while counting their steps.
Later on at the Tamamori Shop, Moriritchi decides what Tamamori she wants to bring to the Kirakira! Tamamori Heaven competition tomorrow. She notices a table of red bandanas in the shop and Anemoriritchi explains that the eggified Tamagotchis really love wearing them. Three egg Tamagotchis then walk in and Moriritchi offers them a bunch of accessories. They reject her offer, saying they don't want it, and instead buy red bandanas from Anemoriritchi, leaving Moriritchi disappointed. Elsewhere, Guriguritchi struggles to figure out what kind of Tamamori to bring tomorrow. At the Mame Family house, Chamametchi asks where Papamametchi is and Mamametchi tells her that he's very busy at the laboratory figuring out the egg phenomenon. Mametchi is watching GOTCHIMAN and is surprised to see Herotchi and Madonnatchi turned into eggs.
The next day, ADtchi asks Moriritchi to bring Giragiratchi to the set. When she enters her dressing room, she is shocked to see her and Rubytchi turned into eggs. Giragiratchi assures her that she's fine, but when filming starts she has already become a featureless egg. MC Puppetchi asks the judges their opinions on the two contestants and they say that Moriritchi's Tamamori is too flashy and excessive, adding that Giragiratchi's simple red bandana is what they're looking for. Giragiratchi wins the contest and the eggified Tamagotchis in the audience cheer as the non-transformed Tamagotchis watch in confusion.
At Tamagotchi School, Moriritchi complains about how she lost to the red bandanas and worries her Tamamori isn't good anymore. Her friends assure her that's not the case and that they think her style is better than simplicity. Lovelitchi and Melodytchi mention having less of an audience at their concert and worry about it getting smaller. Suddenly, Kizunatchi falls on to Mametchi head and says she's too tired to fly. Mametchi carries her on his head and they head into class to see Makiko transformed into an egg. Makiko tells Memetchi that she doesn't want her curly hair anymore which shocks Memetchi. Makiko then joins a group of eggified Tamagotchis reading a magazine about red bandanas as the Tama-friends watch in stunned silence.
