Battle On! The Great Donut Contest! (決戦! ドーナツコンテスト Kessen! Dōnatsu kontesuto) is part 2 of episode 20 of Tamagotchi!.
It is also the first episode to be rebroadcasted under Tamagotchi! Tamatomo Daishuu GO.
Synopsis[]
Today is Tama Donut's "Handmade Donut Contest". If you win, your donut will be adopted in the Tama Donut menu and you will receive a year's worth of donuts! Everyone starts making their own special donuts. Who will win the contest?
Plot[]
Mametchi, Memetchi, Kuchipatchi, Flowertchi, Lovelitchi, and Makiko walk down a street in Tamagotchi Town as Kuchipatchi complains about being hungry. They run into Tamastetchi who hands them a flyer advertising that Tama Donuts is celebrating their success by holding a homemade donut content open to participants. Kuchipatchi says he'd rather eat the donuts than make them, but Donutchi come up and responds that the winner not only gets their donut added to the menu, but also gets a year supply of donuts. The Tama Friends agree to entering in the contest, excited for various reasons.
At the Mame Family house, Mametchi is seen using various tools to make scientifically tasty donuts. Chamametchi wants to help and tries to grab the flour bag from Mametchi, causing it to rip apart and create a mess. However, she enjoys the "snow" falling everywhere. Meanwhile, the other friends are trying to make their own donuts. Makiko wants to make healthy ones, Memetchi wants to make unique ones, Kuchipatchi is just thinking of all the donuts in the competition, Flowertchi is wondering how to use flowers in her donuts, and Lovelitchi is hoping to herself that everybody will like her donuts.
The next day, the gang shows up at the contest to present their donuts. They notice that Lovelitchi hasn't shown up yet and worry about her as she was excited to enter the contest too. Tamastetchi then announces the start of the homemade donut contest and introduces the three judges: Donutchi, Safetytchi, and Necktietchi. She calls up Mametchi to present his donuts which are shaped like Mametchi's head and topped with a chocolate dip. Safetytchi praises the taste, but Donutchi remarks that it's missing something and Necktietchi adds that it's "metaphorically" loud, dismaying Mametchi.
Next up is Memetchi who presents donuts in the shape of her curl. Before the judges can taste it, Memetchi insists that they must eat the donut from the side to enjoy it and appreciate her curl. The judges then put their mouth on the end of the curl and start eating, but Necktietchi eventually stops and says it's too hard to eat. Tamastetchi then calls on Kuchipatchi to present except he has nothing to show because he ate the donuts (shaped like him) on the way to the contest. Tamastetchi hurriedly introduces Makiko as the next contestant and she states that her donuts are the first healthiest donuts, pleasing Safetytchi who thinks it's good for a diet. The judges seem to enjoy the donut at first, but Safetytchi realizes that they're just pancakes with holes punched in. Tamastetchi then disappointingly introduces Flowertchi who presents donuts decorated with flowers. Safetytchi praises how beautiful the donut looks, but the other two judges complain about how soggy the donut is. Flowertchi nervously says that the water is there so the flowers won't wilt, but this only disappoints the judges.
Tamastetchi, becoming nervous with all the failures, calls upon Kuromametchi which surprises everyone as they didn't know he even entered the contest. He reveals his donuts which are completely black. The judges taste the donuts and appear to love how tasty it is, pointing out the taste of cucumber, crab, and tuna. However, Necktietchi discovers the donuts are actually sushi rolls shaped into a donut shape and Mametchi realizes the donuts were black because of the seaweed wrapping. The competition concludes and the judges converse with each other to pick a winner. After some time, Donutchi faces the crowd and disappointingly announces that nobody wins, shocking everyone. Just then, Lovelitchi comes in at last minute and tells her friends that she had some unscheduled work, causing her to be late. Makiko says the contest is already over, but Lovelitchi responds that she's okay with it and tells everyone to enjoy her donuts anyway. After trying them (donuts drizzled with strawberry sauce and topped with marshmallows), the group is delighted with the taste.
Noticing the nearby group's delight, Donutchi asks if they can try the donuts too and Lovelitchi hands them her donuts. They burst with joy and excitement from the taste and Lovelitchi meekly says there were probably better donuts in the contest. The judges however, look to the side, remembering that that they couldn't even pick a winner from the contestants. Tamastetchi then slides over to the judges and enthusiastically tells them that they have a winner so Donutchi revises the judges' decision and announces Lovelitchi as the winner. She is awarded with a trophy and Donutchi asks what the name of her donuts will be. Lovelitchi responds that she didn't have a name as she only made them for her friends so Donutchi decides to call them "Tama-Friend Donuts". The group agrees with the name and Lovelitchi thanks everyone, though she doesn't understand where the name came from.
