Bagubagutchi (ばぐばぐっち Bagubagutchi), also known as Barkbarktchi or Bagbagtchi, is the Mame Family's first Tama Pet. He appears as a Mame Family member in Tamagotchi Connection Version 5 and is adoptable on Tamagotchi iD L.
Name Origin[]
Bagu most likely comes from baggu (バッグ), meaning 'bag'. On the other hand, Bagu might also mean the sound of a dog barking.
Appearance[]
Bagubagutchi resembles a dog and a bag.
He has a blue body with a square-shaped, hollow bag-like head with 2 slips of paper, one red and one white, in it.
He has a tag attached to the side of his head, as well as a strap that lets him hang off things like doornobs. He has a yellow spot on the left side of his face, dark round eyes, and a small round nose.
Personality[]
Bagubagutchi is very smart and can do Mametchi's homework for him. He carries Mametchi's things for him. If someone puts a dog tag on him, he'll follow the person that put the dog tag on everywhere.

Bagubagutchi is obtainable as a tama pet if the player raises a pure Mame Family.

Bagubagutchi is student #074. His favorite subject is drama.
Tamagotchi iD L[]
Bagubagutchi appears in the original and Princess Spacy version of the Tamagotchi iD L. He appears in Donuts Park from 10 am to 11:59 am and can be adopted as a Tama Pet if encountered three times.
In the Anime[]
Tamagotchi: The Movie[]
Bagubagutchi appears in the feature film, Tamagotchi The Movie, where he is often seen with Mametchi in his room. Early on, the gate on Chamametchi's crib falls down onto his head and he jostles it around trying to get free, allowing her egg to roll out and escape from the house.
He is referred to as Barkbarktchi in the English dub.
Tamagotchi: Happiest Story in the Universe![]
Bagubagutchi is a minor character who is seen at Mametchi's house. He is seen chasing a toy caterpillar around in Mametchi's room while Mametchi worked on creating Hapihapitchi.
Tamagotchi![]
Bagubagutchi occassionally appears in the Tamagotchi! anime series. In "A Reality Show! The New Tama Challenge / Escaping From The Mysterious Island" he accompanies Mametchi and friends when they explore an island to film one of Lovelin's shows. In "Good Luck! Big Tama Pet Race", he raced against other Tama Pets and won though he seemed disinterested in winning, falling asleep on his trophy.
At the end of "Shock! The Eggification Doesn't Stop" Bagubagutchi is turned into an egg by the Eggification curse with the rest of the Mame family. He is returned to normal in "The Power of the Bond".
In Games[]
Mario Kart Arcade GP 2[]
Bagubagutchi appears as one of Mametchi's special items in Mario Kart Arcade GP 2. When deployed he will run in circles on the track where he was placed. If a racer touches him they will be slowed down and Bagubagutchi will steal their item.

Trivia[]
- His dog tag says 豆 (Mame), since he is in the Mame family.
- Bagubagutchi barks like a dog in the Tamagotchi movies, but barks by saying "bagu bagu" in the anime series.
- In the Cantonese dub of the anime, however, his voice is mimicked to sound like normal puppies.
- Despite being a member of Mametchi's family and living at their house, Bagubagutchi is rarely seen in the Tamagotchi! anime series, not even appearing in episodes taking place at Mametchi's house.
