Tama Pets as seen on the Tamagotchi On

Tama Pets (たまペット Tama Petto) are pets of Tamagotchi characters that have appeared on the virtual pets and in the anime series.

Description[]

Tama Pets are animal-like Tamagotchi creatures that act like pets on Earth. They usually have limited sentience and will either only speak in animalistic sounds or single words related to their name. An example of this is Bagubagutchi making barking sounds and Puchiberitchi saying "Beri". Appearances and sizes of Tama Pets vary, but they are typically smaller than Tamagotchi. Some Tama Pets such as Gamanosuke and Giraffetchi are much larger than Tamagotchi.

There are a few Tama Pets that have the same level of sentience as Tamagotchi, being able to speak normally and act like one. HapihapitchiYumecantchiKizunatchi, and Lucky are the only known Tama Pets that can speak like normal Tamagotchis. In the anime, the word Tama Pet can be used for all species of animals, or animal-like Tamagotchis, of Tamagotchi Planet.

On Virtual Pets[]

Home Deka Tamagotchi[]

Though they were simply referred to as "Pets", the Home Deka Tamagotchi allowed the DekaTama protagonist to take care of up to three pets once they upgraded to the expensive house option. They could interact with their pets by feeding them and choosing a toy to play with. If the pets were neglected, they would become lonely and sulk.

Tamagotchi Connection Version 5[]

Tama Pets were officially introduced on the Tamagotchi Connection Version 5 as part of the pure families. There are four Tama Pets, each one belonging to a specific family: Bagubagutchi with the Mame Family, Chitchi with the Meme Family, Onsenmoguratchi with the Kuchipa Family, and Hanatarezoutchi with the Violet Family. The Tama Pets are obtained with the families and can't be interacted with individually.

Tamagotchi iD L[]

The first Tamagotchi device that had adoptable Tama Pets was the Tamagotchi iD L. Different pets can be found at Donut Park at certain times of the day and must be encountered three times to have the option to adopt them. The adopted pet will then stay in the yard and the Tamagotchi can interact with them whenever they go outside. They will also follow the Tamagotchi when they walk to a location, though they will not actually appear with them when they arrive. Tama Pets will stay with the Tamagotchi until the next generation and will never leave until then.

The Tama Pets that appear on this device include: Hapihapitchi, Doremitchi, Sopratchi, Bagubagutchi, Chitchi, Onsenmoguratchi, Shurikentchi, Puchiberitchi, Harapparatchi, and Rubytchi. On the iD L Princess Spacy version, Rubytchi is replaced by Kizunatchi.

Tamagotchi P's[]

Tama Pets reappear with the same mechanic as the iD L, although there are only five different pets that can be adopted - Yumecantchi, Chapitchi, Furilovetchi, Monatototchi and Rinsetchi.

Tamagotchi On[]

The Tamagotchi On introduces the mechanic of mixing with Tama Pets which allows the user to marry their Tama Pet to another one and produce a new pet with features from both parents. Tama Pets are obtained by leaving items in the backyard and then periodically checking to see if one was lured in. Once a Tama Pet appears, the user will be asked if they want to adopt it. If the pet is adopted, they will stay in the backyard and the user's Tamagotchi will play with them when they go into the backyard.

After going into the backyard a certain number of times, another Tama Pet will appear and the user will be asked if they want to marry their pet to it. If the user agrees, the two pets will produce an egg which will immediately hatch into a mixed Tama Pet that the user can take of. Unlike previous iterations, the Tama Pet will run away if the user does not visit the backyard within 24 hours.

Tamagotchi Uni[]

Tama Pets return as a feature in the upcoming Tamagotchi Uni.
