Tongaritchi (とんがりっち) is a teen that appears exclusively on the second generation of the original Tamagotchi.
Tongaritchi has no specified gender, but is referred to as a male in 64 de Hakken! Tamagotchi Minna de Tamagotchi World.
Name Origin[]
Tongari is Japanese for "a pointy hat" or just "a sharp point".
Appearance[]
Tongaritchi resembles Tonmarutchi in that it has a spherical body and a horn, but additionally features a pair of legs and a bright orange color. In its US artwork, its legs are much thinner and its body is a darker shade of orange.
Personality[]
Tongaritchi is a "live wire" and is usually running around. For a hobby it likes making flower beds and growing vegetables.

Tamagotchi (Generation 2)[]
Tongaritchi is a teen-stage character, and evolves from Tonmarutchi with above-average to perfect care. If the Discipline meter was 50% or less when it evolved, it will start off with an empty Discipline meter and make four calls before it evolves. If the Discipline was 75-100%, it will start off with 50% and make two calls. Tongaritchi's base weight is 20, and it sleeps from 9 PM to 9 AM.
If Tongaritchi started with 50% Discipline, it can evolve into any of the six adults (Mimitchi with perfect care, Pochitchi with good care, Nyatchi on the Japanese version 2 with good care, Zuccitchi with average care, Hashizoutchi with full Discipline but below average care, Kusatchi with bad care, and Takotchi with severe neglect). If it started off with 0% Discipline, its evolutions are limited to Pochitchi (or Nyatchi), Zuccitchi, Kusatchi, and Takotchi. Raising a Tongaritchi with 0% Discipline is necessary for earning the secret character (Sekitoritchi, Charitchi, or Zatchi).

Tongaritchi is the second-healthiest teen in the game, evolving from Marutchi with less than forty stress and two or more selfishness, or from Tonmarutchi with less than ten stress and one or more selfishness. It likes carrots and dislikes meat, sleeps from 9pm to 9am and has a maximum beauty contest score of 80. It can evolve into any adult with the exceptions of Mametchi/Mimitchi and Maskutchi/Zuccitchi.

Hoshi de Hakken!! Tamagotchi[]
Tongaritchi is one of the two teenagers of the Group F line, evolving from Tonmarutchi with good care. It can evolve into Mimitchi with good care, Nyatchi with good care and if its power exceeds its intelligence, Zuccitchi with bad care or Hashizoutchi with bad care and if its power exceeds its intelligence. As with all characters in Groups E and F, Tongaritchi is genderless.
Tamagotchi Town[]
Tongaritchi evolves from Tonmarutchi with less than four stress.
If lured into another kind of block by food after waking up on the day it is due to evolve, Tongaritchi will evolve into Zatchi if lured into a mountain block, Nyatchi if lured into an ocean block or Charitchi if lured into a forest block.
In the Anime[]
Anime TV de Hakken!! Tamagotchi[]
Tongaritchi gets its own episode in Anime TV de Hakken!! Tamagotchi. It attempts to plant a small garden outside its house, but Nyorotchi, a group of Tamatchis, and Charitchi end up ruining it. Tongaritchi gets frustrated and builds a fence around the garden, only for Mametchi to appear from underneath, destroying the garden with a drilling machine.

Trivia[]
- Tongaritchi is one of the few characters who had sprites changed in later iterations of the Generation 2 Tamagotchi, with the teeth in its eating and angry sprites being removed.
- Tamabetchi's profile mentions them as working well with groups of Tongaritchi to raise flowers.
