Ojitchi (おじっち Ojitchi) is a senior Tamagotchi that debuted on the Tamagotchi Osutchi in Japan and on the Tamagotchi Connection internationally. His female counterpart is Otokitchi.

Appearance[]

Ojitchi's head appears as that of an elderly man, with heavy eyelids that cover his eyes. He has two green, frail legs, and a balding head, having only two puffs of hair on either side and one long strand on the top of his head. His sprite artwork has also depicted him with bubbles floating on either side of his head, though their actual purpose is not known.

Ojitchi's personality was not fully defined with the release of the Osutchi, but it is said that he and Otokitchi always watch younger Tamagotchi fall in love, "warmly from the shadow".

In his modern form, he is depicted as an old man that really can't stand being bested by other Tamagotchi characters. From the Keitai Kaitsuu Tamagotchi Plus onward, he has also been depicted as a salesman, traveling around Tamagotchi Town with his cart, selling food and items to others.

On Virtual Pets[]

Tamagotchi Osutchi[]

Ojitchi is a TMP4 character that evolves from ChoMametchi with perfect care, if he remains unmarried by the age of 14. Like Sutebotchi, Ojitchi will refuse to marry, and will get gradually more needy each day until he dies. His meal is a mushroom, and his snack is a bottle of sake. He wakes at 7 AM, sleeps at 8 PM, and has a base weight of 10.

In early test versions of the toy distributed in August 1997, he also appears when a Mesutchi and Osutchi begin to mate, bringing the Osutchi character a futon. This was removed from the final version of the toy.

Tamagotchi Connection V1-V4.5[]

Ojitchi is a male senior character that evolves from any male adult from any family that hasn't married by the age of 13. The matchmaker will stop visiting after evolution, leaving connection as Ojitchi's sole means of marriage. He can only marry an Otokitchi, and doing so will result in the birth of a male baby that will evolve into Oyajitchi.

On the V4 and V4.5, he will retire from his job and be given a cane by the Gotchi King, and selecting Work from the connection icon will show him walk to his former place of employment and wistfully gaze from afar.

Keitai and Akai Tamagotchi Plus[]

Ojitchi is a male senior character that evolves from any male adult from any family that hasn't married by the age of 13. The matchmaker will stop visiting after evolution, leaving connection as Ojitchi's sole means of marriage. He can only marry an Otokitchi, and doing so will result in the birth of a male baby that will evolve into Oyajitchi. Ojitchi also appears as a salesman, appearing at 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM to sell food and items.

Chou Jinsei Enjoi Tamagotchi Plus[]

Ojitchi is a male senior character that evolves from any male adult from any family that hasn't married by the age of 13. Marrying an Otokitchi will result in a baby that will always be male and evolve into Oyajitchi after one hour. The family Ojitchi was born into is used to calculate which of the three male babies is born. As the matchmaker will no longer appear, Ojitchi can marry by either connecting to another Tamagotchi with an Otokitchi or using the "Matchmaker Office" item to summon an Otokitchi to marry. He can use one of the three Hatena dating cards, which will always result in Hatenatchi being born.

Ojitchi also appears as a salesman, appearing at 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM to sell food, items, and cooking ingredients. He can also be summoned at any time using the "Sales Office" item.

Tamagotchi School[]

Ojitchi is student #021. His favorite subject is Japanese language. He will not appear on his own, and instead can only be obtained by connecting to an Entama that has him.

Tamagotchi Music Star[]

Ojitchi can evolve from any male adult if he has lived for a long period of time without getting married, and his bandmates will evolve into seniors shortly afterward. Marrying him to Otokitchi or Dango Obatchi will not yield any special offspring.

Tamagotchi Plus Color and Hexagontchi[]

Ojitchi will evolve from any male adult if he has lived for a long period of time without getting married. If he marries Otokitchi, the resulting offspring will become a special adult (Oyajitchi if male, Grippatchi if female, Tensaitchi Jr. on the Hexagontchi). If Ojitchi visits the Matchmaker, Otokitchi will offer herself as a marriage partner.

TamaTown Tama-Go[]

Ojitchi can be obtained through either severe neglect of any male adult (appearing as early as age 4) or having a male adult for a long period of time without marriage (as late as age 20).

Tamagotchi m!x[]

While he cannot be raised, Ojitchi will show up in photographs of Oyajitchi as his father in any photographs of him that contain his parents.

Tamagotchi Smart[]

Ojitchi is a NPC exclusive to the En-Tama Friends TamaSma Card for the Tamagotchi Smart. He greets the Tamagotchi when the card is linked to the Smart and appears with Otokitchi during animation for the Striped Tie item.

Tamagotchi Uni[]

Ojitchi appears as a NPC on the Tamagotchi Uni. The Tamagotchi can pass him by during a Tama Walk if the park option is picked. Ojitchi also appears with Otokitchi to see the Tamagotchi off if they get married in the Tamaverse.

In the Anime[]

Let's Go! Tamagotchi[]

Ojitchi makes a brief cameo appearance on Let's Go! Tamagotchi. In the episode Super Heroine Chamametchi!, he and Otokitchi appear briefly on television, sitting down and sipping tea as ChaMametchi flips through several different channels.

Tamagotchi: The Movie[]

Ojitchi appears as a background character in some scenes and can be seen pulling his cart.

Tamagotchi: Happiest Story in the Universe![]

In the movie sequel Tamagotchi: Happiest Story in the Universe!, Ojitchi and Otokitchi play minor roles. When they argue over an issue, Hapihapitchi appears to make them happy, and they make up to each other. Later on, they argue again, but refuse to make up on their own, requesting Hapihapitchi do it for them.

Tamagotchi![]

Ojitchi appears as a background character in scenes taking place in Tamagotchi Town. In "The Power of Gossip!", Uwasatchi and Safetytchi tell a rumor about Tamagotchis receiving haunted phone calls. The scene cuts away to reveal Ojitchi as the one making the calls. In "Chocolate! Chocolate! Lovelin's Chocolate is Everywhere!", Ojitchi is seen talking to Mr. Turtlepedia about his disappointment on not getting Lovelin's chocolates.

Trivia[]

  • On the Keitai, a new sprite was added as a new frame for his eating animation. On the V2 and V3, this was accidentally turned into his default sprite. This was corrected on the V4.
