Tamagotchi Planet (たまごっち星 Tamagotchi Sei) is the homeworld of all Tamagotchi, and the closest planet to The Earth that supports life.
Just like all of the buildings, machines and plants on the surface, the planet itself is a Tamagotchi.
Appearance[]
In its original incarnation, the planet resembled Earth, but with eyes and a large, pink beak. On its back side was Zetsuenshi Island, which had a tab so large it could be seen from space.
In its current appearance, the planet looks mostly green with large continents of various colors (dark green, yellow, and pink). It has closed eyes, pink lips. and an open mouth with a large drop of drool hanging out of it, as if the planet is sleeping. It also had two short, stubby arms that often hang down away from its body, and two clouds its top. The back of Tamagotchi Planet looks like a Tamagotchi device; there is cream colored area that resembles a screen, and three pink spots that resemble buttons.
On Virtual Pets[]
None of the vintage Tamagotchi toys portrayed the Tamagotchis as living on the planet; they lived in the egg itself on Earth. Starting from the Tamagotchi Plus Color and TamaTown Tama-Go, the toys now take place on the Tamagotchi Planet itself, with the toy being a means of communicating and interacting between the Tamagotchi Planet and Earth.
Original Tamagotchi[]
During the events of the original Tamagotchi, an Oyajitchi got the Tamagotchi Planet drunk, causing it to sing loudly and evolve into a new form, which made the planet uninhabitable. In a panic, the Tamagotchis fled the planet for safe haven, and ended up crashing on Earth.
Yasashii Tamagotch[]
During the events of the Yasashii Tamagotch (fall 1998), the Planet had become sober and was safe to live on again, and Professor Banzo and Mikachu began to send the Tamagotchis home in repaired UFOs.
Ketai Kaitsuu Tamagotchi Plus[]
On the Keitai Kaitsuu Tamagotchi Plus, the Tamagotchi could temporarily visit the Planet through a cell phone application, and come back the same way.
Tamagochu[]
Tamagotchi Planet appears in the death screen of the TamagoChu when the Tamagotchi returns home there.
Tamagotchi Mini[]
On the English version of the Tamagotchi Mini Tamagotchi appears on the death screen when the Tamagotchi returns home there.
Tamagotchi m!x[]
On the Gift and 20th Anniversary of the Tamagotchi m!x, the user's Tamagotchi can be seen traveling into Tamagotchi Planet's mouth during the unlock animation for Uratama Town.
Tamagotchi On[]
When the user sends their first generation Tamagotchi out to a location for the first time, an animation will play of Tamagotchi Planet dreaming Tama Resort Island into existence. The planet also appears in the favorite item for the scooter where the Tamagotchi will ride it around the planet.
Tamagotchi Pix[]
Tamagotchi Planet is seen when a UFO drops a Tamagotchi egg to the user to raise and when the user's Tamagotchi is sent back home to Tamagotchi Planet.
Tamagotchi Smart[]
Tamagotchi Planet appears on a clock face exclusive to the En-Tama Friends TamaSma Card for the Tamagotchi Smart.

Professor Banzo and Mikachu recount the events of Tamagotchi fleeing Tamagotchi Planet and making Earth their new home.
Tamagotchi Video Adventures[]
Tamagotchi Planet is seen in the beginning of Tamagotchi Video Adventures when Cosmotchi is talking to the Tamagotchis in the Tamagotchi Museum.
Tamagotchi: The Movie[]
During the events of Tamagotchi: The Movie, Sunnytchi disappeared from the Planet, causing it to catch a cold. While it was sick, the Tamagotchi Planet had a large drip of nasal fluid hanging from its nose insead of drool hanging from its mouth. Mametchi stole a rocket from Mamemame Laboratory to go searching for Sunnytchi, only to find the Planet's cold medication hitched to the tip of the rocket. It was successfully shot from the rocket so the Planet could ingest it, curing its cold. Later, when the rocket was trying to escape Blackholetchi's pull, the Planet unleashed a loud yell that woke up Blackholetchi.
Tamagotchi![]
In the series finale of the Tamagotchi! anime, it is shown that it developed an egg disease known as "Eggification" due to the rapid disappearance of the legendary Tama Hearts, which turns its population into unconscious, zombie-like eggs.
GO-GO Tamagotchi![]
In the series GO-GO Tamagotchi!, the two northern continents of the Planet merge together in an event known as Tamagottsun (たまごっつん), which happens once every thousand years. This causes Tamagotchi Town, Dream Town, and the smaller rural areas surrounding them to merge into one city, forming DoriTama Town. In episode 12, TamaGoLand was introduced and does not alter after Tamagottsun created DoriTama Town. In episode 48, the planet begins to cry, due to the Tamagottsun getting more serious. Mametchi and his friends discover if the planet keeps crying a permanent drought would occur and the Tamagotchi species would become extinct. In episode 50, the students at DoriTama School did eveything they could to cheer the planet up. With all their effort they cheered up Tamagotchi Planet and Dream Town and Tamagotchi Town came back to their unfused states.

Starting from the Chou Jinsei Enjoi Tamagotchi Plus and Tamagotchi Connection Version 3, the Tamagotchi could return to the Planet through an Earth PC and visit Tamagotchi Town, among many other planet locations.

Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop 3[]
In Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop 3, the player receives a message requesting help from either Mametchi, Memetchi, or Kuchipatchi. If the player agrees to help, a UFO will appear to take the player to Tamagotchi Planet.

A sequence involving the Tamagotchi Planet and the Earth communicating to each other appears in Tamagotchi Collection.

On July 3, 2015, an interactive map of Tamagotchi Planet was added to the Tamagotchi Channel website during the airing of the rerun series Tamagotchi! Tamatomo Daishuu GO. It is an overall layout of the entire modern Tamagotchi Planet such as areas and regions around the world. The art style of the map uses the modern (non-anime) art style.
Upon the initial release, Tamagotchi Town, Mame City, Guruguru Town, Patchi Forest, and Tama Street were available for viewing. There was also an additional location called Tamagotchi Rally Island, which launched a web-based activity game. On December 15, 2015, Flower Hills was added to the map as well. On May 13, 2016, a brand new location called Rainbow Hills was added to the map. On July 1, 2016, Berry Town was added to the map.

- Tamagotchi Planet is capable of Evolution. One of the Planet's "poor care" stages is shown in Tamagotchi: Honto no Hanashi, where it instantaneously changes its voice, appearance, and demeanor upon pulling its tab out in the middle of a drunken dance. Evolution may also explain the radical change in appearance between the Planet's 1998 and 2004 incarnations.
- The Planet's oceans look green from space, despite being blue when seen from the surface.
- While the Tamagotchi Planet seen in Let's Go! Tamagotchi is a simple animation, in later anime, it is an entirely CG model.
- According to the description of the Tamagotchi YouTube channel in 2023, the Tamagotchi Planet is actually 5 galaxies away from The Earth. [1]
