Gotchiman! Forever! (GOTCHIMAN! フォーエバー GOTCHIMAN! Fōebā) is part 1 of episode 24 of Tamagotchi!.

Synopsis[]

The audience ratings for "GOTCHIMAN" reach an all time low and TamaPtchi tells Gotchiman that the show will be discontinued. As Gotchiman walks around town feeling down, he runs into his biggest fan, Mametchi.

Plot[]

Mametchi arrives home in a rush and quickly turns on the TV for Gotchiman, lamenting that he missed the beginning of the episode. Despite that, he still enjoys the episode and cheers for Gotchiman with Chamametchi and Hapihapitchi noting how Mametchi is a big fan of the show and character.

At TAMAX-TV, TamaPtchi watches the episode and looks down at his tablet which shows the ratings of Gotchiman on a steady line near the zero mark. However, it starts sharply rising up when Hero Lovelin appears in the scene to help out Gotchiman with her signature attack. TamaPtchi comments that he likes Lovelin because she's cute and a great actress. Back at the screen, Gotchiman tells Hero Lovelin that he can take it from here and she leaves. TamaPtchi then notices the ratings returning back to near zero with her departure and begins considering changing the name of the show to "Gotchigirl".

Elsewhere in the studio, TamaPtchi asks ADtchi for his opinion on Gotchiman. At first, ADtchi refuses because he wants to respect Gotchiman for being a veteran in show business, but TamaPtchi keeps pressuring him. So ADtchi gives in and says Gotchiman is a good actor, but his acting is "cheesy and lame" and adds that he overdoes his role. TamaPtchi then asks Turtletchi and Kakiwaritchi for their opinions and they respond that Gotchiman "bosses everyone around" and that "he wouldn't accept our advice".

In TamaPtchi's office, he looks at pictures of Lovelin and Gotchiman and sighs to himself, not happy about having to choose between the two actors. Meanwhile, Gotchiman views his own ratings on a tablet and looks discouraged. TamaPtchi then comes into his room after knocking and asks to have a word with him. Gotchiman praises Lovelin's acting and adds that there should be a party with the TV staff for working so hard, but TamaPtchi tells him that there's no time for that. He then says that the show business always demands new stuff and apologizes, stating that he plans to end the Gotchiman show due to viewers saying it is "too tacky". Keeping his positive demeanor, Gotchiman accepts the fact and promises to do his best until it ends. Afterwards, TamaPtchi walks out of the room feeling upset, but relieved that got the bad news over with. Gotchiman, however, seems to take it hard and hits his head on the mirror in frustration.

Outside the studio, Gotchiman walks away in an overcoat and blue mask, not wanting to hurt the feeling of kids who might recognize him. As he reminisces about the good days, Mametchi crashes into him with his hovering scooter. Mametchi apologizes and then becomes excited over seeing a "Gotchiman Fan" dressed as the hero. He proceeds to talk excitedly about the show, not paying attention to Gotchiman telling him how people don't like the show anymore. He then asks Gotchiman to come over to his house so they can talk about yesterday's episode. Before heading over, Gotchiman asks about Mametchi's scooter and he replies that it's a "Super Gotchi Jet Board" and that his dream is to see Gotchiman using one of his inventions on the show.

The two arrive at the Mame Family house and go inside Mametchi's room. Gotchiman notices merchandise of himself all over the room and smiles to himself. Mametchi proceeds to put on his own Gotchiman costume and excitedly chatter about the latest episode while Gotchiman listens. He accidentally adds that one of the scenes was hard to shoot, but quickly dodges suspicion by saying he heard it from the staff. Mametchi then shows him various inventions he made and gifts him a grappling gun out of friendship, saying that he still has more Gotchiman gadgets to make. Gotchiman looks down and admits to Mametchi that the show will be over before he can finish them which Mametchi doesn't understand. He then tells Mametchi to forget about what he said and asks if he can have the Gotchi Jet Board. Mametchi warns that it's under testing and hard to control, but Gotchiman replies that you should always learn from mistakes to overcome challenges.

Night falls in Tamagotchi Town as Gotchiman walks by with the jet board. Suddenly, two police cars rush past him and the scene switches to a bridge where there's a bus full of passengers veering off the edge with Lovelin reporting to the camera and crowd about the event. Gotchiman appears at the scene and decides to use his jet board to save the passengers before it's too late. He rides the scooter to the bus and removes his incognito disguise to reveal himself. TamaPtchi is surprised to see him there and worries for him as the situation is dangerous and not a TV show. Mametchi also sees him on TV and cheers for him. Gotchiman arrives at the front of the bus and shoots the grappling gun to use as a winch to push the bus back. With all of his strength, Gotchiman pushes the bus back on to the bridge and the crowd cheers for his heroics. However, the jet board loses power and Gotchiman falls into the river below.

The next day, TamaPtchi reads many fan letters to Gotchiman who is resting at Tama Hospital. He states that he needs to get well soon for the next shoot and tells him that he's giving the Gotchiman show another chance, happily adding that they can both work as a team. Gotchiman accepts the offer and TamaPtchi adds that a unique fan letter stated they would make more inventions for him to use in future episodes. Gotchiman then looks out the window, saying that "Life is full of surprises."
