A Gift of Midsummer Snow (ll真夏の雪のおくりもの Manatsu no yuki no okurimono) is part 2 of episode 90 of Tamagotchi!.
It was later rebroadcast as the 15th Tamagotchi! Tamatomo Daishuu GO episode on July 9, 2015.
Synopsis[]
What a hot summer! Mametchi invents a machine that can make it snow in order to keep summer cool and everyone is overjoyed. Kuchipatchi makes a snowman called Yukipatchi. Then, Yukipatchi started to move! The two become very close, but eventually it's time to say goodbye. It's a story of Kuchipatchi's sad love.
Plot[]
It's a hot summer day and Kuchipatchi is at his house sitting in front of an electric fan, complaining about how hot it is. Mamapatchi calls him into the main room to eat the afternoon snacks she made and reminds him to take his daily hot spring soak. Kuchipatchi goes outside to spend time in a hot spring, but the combined heat of the spring and summer heat makes him too hot.
Fed up with the heat, Kuchipatchi goes to Mametchi's house to ask him to make a machine to help him feel cool. Mametchi invites him inside and the two work on a machine to fight against the summer heat. When they finish, they take it outside and Mametchi explains that it will use a powerful vacuum to suck the cold air from North North Point and bring it to Tamagotchi Town. The machine is then turned on and it does just that, bringing the snow clouds all the way to Tamagotchi Town. Snow begins to fall and Mametchi and Kuchipatchi head to a park to watch everyone enjoy the snow.
At the park, Kuchipatchi builds a snowman resembling him and calls them Yukipatchi. He puts a flower on them as decoration and it suddenly glows pink to Kuchipatchi and Mametchi's surprise. They then hear a voice saying "Thank you" and look around in confusion until realizing it came from a female Tamagotchi sitting where Yukipatchi was. Mametchi tries to figure out how Yukipatchi came to life, but stops to watch Kuchipatchi and Yukipatchi having a snowball fight. Yukipatchi is hit in the face with a snowball and she reassures a worried Kuchipatchi that she is fine and doesn't mind the snow as she came from it.
At night, Kuchipatchi brings Yukipatchi to his house for dinner. Mamapatchi tells her they have a bed she can sleep in, but Yukipatchi insists on sleeping outside in the snow because that's where she's comfortable. Kuchipatchi then goes outside to build a snow house for Yukipatchi to sleep in so she can be cozy. As Yukipatchi tucks herself in, Kuchipatchi watches from his room and wishes her sweet dreams, promising that they'll have more fun tomorrow. The next morning, Kuchipatchi goes outside to greet Yukipatchi and panics upon seeing the snow house collapsed in itself. The bed is empty and Kuchipatchi looks around until Yukipatchi appears behind him, having got up earlier. He is relieved and says that he was worried Yukipatchi had disappeared.
The two walk down Tama Street and hear various Tamagotchis complain about having to shovel all the snow. This make Yukipatchi sad and Kuchipatchi takes her hand and has her walk faster to get away from them, upset at the Tamagotchis for inadvertently hurting her feelings. They reach TamaCafe where Kuchipatchi's friends call Yukipatchi pretty and say that the two of them look cute together. As they happily laugh, Kuchipatchi notices Yukipatchi looking sad for a moment and asks her what's wrong. She doesn't answer and merely shakes her head while smiling.
Later that night, Kuchipatchi and Yukipatchi are alone together in Patchi Forest. Yukipatchi thanks Kuchipatchi for giving her a fun time and says that it's time for her to go. Kuchipatchi is confused and Yukipatchi explains that she is from North North Point and is connected to the snow there. As the snow is starting to melt, she too must go. Realizing what she means, Kuchipatchi breaks down in tears and begs her not to leave, saying they didn't even spend enough time together. Yukipatchi also starts crying and says that she doesn't want to leave, but has no choice; she cannot exist without the snow. Kuchipatchi hugs her and tells her that he'll miss her and Yukipatchi responds that she loves him and promises that they'll meet again someday.
Yukipatchi finally fades away, leaving behind the flower that Kuchipatchi used to decorate her. The episode ends on him wistfully staring up at the night sky.

- Yukipatchi's design is based on the Uki-Warashi, a small cute red-rosy cheeked child made of snow from Japanese mythology. Similar to this episode, legend tells of a snow-child that came to life upon a wish and later departs once spring arrived.
