Hanbunkotchi (はんぶんこっち) is a teen stage character that debuted on the Tamagotchi On.
Name Origin[]
Hanbunkotchi's name comes from the Japanese word "hanbunko" (はんぶんこ), which can mean "half", or splitting something evenly between two people, in this case referencing Hanbunkotchi's split colors. It's also possible the -ko particle may allude to "the child of (both halves)". This may also be a nod to the established m!x function.
Appearance[]
Hanbunkotchi has a large head and small body, with a tuft on hair on its forehead. It has large eyes, pink cheeks, and two horns. Hanbunkotchi's body is split in two colors; the left side is always slate-blue; the right side and face are blue when a boy, and pink when a girl. In second generation and on, the color on the right side can differ. In its character art, the right side is yellow.
