The Hatena and Bikkuri Call Dating Service is a feature exclusive to the Chou Jinsei Enjoi Tamagotchi Plus and Ura Jinsei Enjoi Tamagotchi Plus respectively. It involves the use of one of three obtainable dating cards to obtain incredibly rare characters not obtainable by normal means.

There are three dating cards which, when used, call the Matchmaker, who will bring an unidentified Tamagotchi as a partner (which will appear as a curtain; the idea is they are behind the curtain) and if accepted, the baby will be Hatenatchi on the Entama, and Bikkuritchi on the Uratama.
Which character the baby will become depends on the card used. The Hatena and Bikkuri Group follow a linear growth pattern once at child stage, and a certain child character will always grow up to become the same teen and adult character.
Initially, obtaining the cards was very difficult, and impossible outside of Japan, as the only way to obtain them was through a chance event on the Tama Station. However, it is now much easier to obtain them, as they can be found under Freebies in Enwarehouse.
