The Jujutsutchi (じゅじゅつっち) is a licensed Tamagotchi Nano model based on the anime and manga franchise Jujutsu Kaisen. It was released in Japan in late January 2022 and released in the United States on July 8.
A second version called Jujutsutchi 0 was released March 2023 in Japan and July 2023 in the United States. It is based off the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 film and features new characters, minigames, and animations.
Functions[]
Birth and Growth[]
After setting the clock, the screen will show the user's student (Yuta Okkotsu in the 0 version) enrolling into Tokyo or Kyoto Jujutsu High with the respective presidents welcoming them. The character begins as a generic student, and evolves after 24 hours based on care quality and how many games were won.
Buttons[]
There are no on-screen icons, and therefore all information is conveyed through the screen and buttons. The student is cared for by filling its meters; it has Hungry and Happy meters, each consisting of four units, which are both empty when the student is born. If either becomes empty, they will call for attention to fill them.
If the student needs something, the user can press the C button for an animation to see what it needs. If the student looks angry, it's hungry; if it sulks, it's unhappy. If its Hungry and Happy meters are not empty but the Happy meter is not full, it will play a simple happy animation. If the Happy meter is completely full and the Hungry meter is not empty, the student will perform a Close Up.
Pressing the A button opens the main menu, with the options to feed or to play the training games. The meal option (onigiri) fills one Hungry unit, and will refuse to eat anymore once the meter is full. The snack (mochi) fills one Happy unit, and can be fed even when the Happy meter is full. The A button is also used to open the lights on and off menu when the student has fallen asleep.
Training Games[]
There are three games available, each influencing what character the user's student will evolve into depending on which games are played. Winning a game will raise the Happy meter by 1, while playing a perfect game will raise the Happy meter by 2.
Jujutsutchi[]
- Put the Curse to Sleep: The student will be practicing on Tsukamoto to control their cursed energy. Letters will appear on screen and the user must press the corresponding buttons (A or B, once or twice) in time. Failing to respond in time, or pressing the wrong, button, will cause Tsukamoto to fully wake up and punch the student. The user must successfully respond at least once to win the game, and five times for a perfect game.
- Finger Catch: Fingers and nails will be falling from the top of the screen and the student must catch the fingers while avoiding the nails. The cursor can be moved left with A and right with B. Touching a nail or missing a finger ends the game. The user must catch at least five fingers to win the game, and 20 times for a perfect game.
- Curse Training: The student will be exorcising a cursed spirit, The user will have 15 seconds to press the A button as much as they can. If the user presses the A button 9 times or less, the curse will remain undefeated and the game is lost. Pressing the button 10 times or more will successfully defeat the curse spirit, with 15 or more considered a perfect game.
Jujutsutchi 0[]
- Fighting with Miguel: Miguel will appear on screen. The user has to rapidly press the A button for 10 seconds. The fight against Miguel is won if the button is pressed a sufficient number of times. If a perfect is achieved the Satoru Gojo animation will be played. If the user fails to press the A button enough, Miguel will appear on screen instead.
- Taking a Photo of a Crepe: Mimiko and Nanako are trying to get the perfect picture of a crepe. A hand holding a crepe will appear on the screen. Press the A or B button when the crepe is in the center of the screen, fully visible. If all four photos are a successfully taken, the game will count as perfect. If the crepe is off-frame or if the button isn't pressed early enough, it will be considered a fail.
- I Love Panda Slot: The very right of the roulette will randomly alternate between "Ring", "Panda", "Glasses", and "Onigiri". When "Panda" reaches the middle, time the B button press so it shows "I ♡ Panda (the emoji) ". If 5 consecutive "Panda" emojis are gotten the game will count as perfect. If no button is pressed for 10 seconds, it will be considered a failure.
Cursed Spirits[]
Throughout the day at regular intervals, cursed spirits will appear to attack the student. The user must press the A button to make their student attack the curse and drive it away. There are four possible cursed spirits that can appear, and the curses will gradually take over the screen the longer the user takes to respond. If the user fails to respond entirely, the student will become injured. Cursed spirits can't be banished once the student has fallen asleep or is injured.
Daily Events[]
Throughout the day, various characters and events from the series will appear. Pressing any button will trigger the animation to end, with some showing an additional screen before closing.
Injury and Death[]
If the user fails to fill the Hungry and Happy meters, and allows a cursed spirit to persist on the screen for too long, the student will become injured, portrayed by them lying in a bed and sulking. Pressing the A button multiple times will eventually heal them. Repeated injuries or failure to heal an injury after an extended period of time will result in Death, with the sulking lines being replaced by a skull, followed by a cursed spirit gloating on screen. Pressing the A and C buttons together will summon a new student.
