The Kamen Ridertchi (仮面ライダーっち), known in full as Kamen Ridertchi 50th Anniversary Ver. (仮面ライダーっち 50thアニバーサリーVer.) and alternatively called the Kamen Rider Tamagotchi, is a licensed Tamagotchi Nano model based on the Toei television series Kamen Rider, created to celebrate the show's 50th anniversary.

Functions[]

Arrival and Growth[]

After setting the clock, a young boy will appear and will put on a helmet, becoming "Shonen Kamen Rider". 24 hours later, he will evolve into an adult form, based on what games were played and the quality of care he is given. He can also evolve into a secret character if certain requirements are fulfilled.

After becoming his adult form, he will leave after two days. However, if conditions are met to become one of the secret forms, he will stay for one more day before leaving.

Buttons[]

There are no on-screen icons, and therefore all information is conveyed through the screen and buttons. Kamen Rider is cared for by filling his meters; he has Hungry and Happy meters, each consisting of four units, which are both empty when he first arrives. If either becomes empty, he will call for attention to fill them.

If Kamen Rider needs something, the user can press the C button for an animation to see what he needs. If Kamen Rider looks dizzy, he's hungry; if he sulks, he's unhappy. If his Hungry and Happy meters are not empty but the Happy meter is not full, he will perform a happy animation (Shonen form) or show his symbol (evolved forms). If the Hungry meter is not empty and the Happy meter is full, Kamen Rider will either perform a Close Up (Shonen form) or show a panning full body graphic before showing his symbol (evolved forms).

Pressing the A button opens the main menu, with the options to feed or to play the game. The meal option (curry rice) fills one Hungry unit, and he will refuse to eat anymore once the meter is full. The snack (soda) fills one Happy unit, and can be fed even when the Happy meter is full. The A button is also used to open the lights on and off menu when Kamen Rider has fallen asleep. Shonen Kamen Rider sleeps at 8 PM, while his evolved forms sleep at 10 PM. All characters wake at 7 AM, and will turn the lights on themselves.

Pressing A and C together will open the menu or turn on or off the sound. Pressing the B button will open the clock screen, and pressing A and C together will allow the user to set the time. These two functions are always available regardless of Kamen Rider's circumstances, except when he has been conquered or has departed.

Games[]

There are two training games, each influencing which evolution the Kamen Rider will become. Winning a game will raise the Happy meter by 1, while playing a perfect game will raise the Happy meter by 2.

  • Rider Kick!: Kamen Rider will appear running, about to perform a kick, and the user will have eight seconds to press the A button as many times as possible. If the A button is pressed 5 times or less, Kamen Rider will trip and fall over, resulting in a loss. If pressed 6-19 times, Kamen Rider will perform a Rider Punch, which counts as a win. If pressed 20 or more times, Kamen Rider will sucessfully perform a Rider Kick, which counts as a perfect game.
  • Bike Action: Kamen Rider will appear on a Rider Machine, and the user will need to navigate it up (A) and down (B) to avoid rocks. Kamen Rider must dodge at least 12 rocks to win (any less counts as a loss), and dodging all 20 rocks counts as a perfect game.

Shocker Troopers[]

Throughout the day, a pair of Shocker Troopers will appear on the right side of the screen, and the user will need to press the A button to drive them away with a Rider Kick. If left for too long, they will push Kamen Rider further off the screen. Removing them takes priority over all other functions; therefore, Kamen Rider cannot be fed or played with until the Shocker Troopers are gone.

Sulking[]

If the user fails to fill the Hungry and Happy meters, or allows Shocker Troopers to stay on the screen, Kamen Rider will sulk, depicted by him looking sad and lines appearing at the top left corner of the screen. Pressing the A button twice will cheer him up. The user will not be able to feed or play with Kamen Rider until he is cheered up, and can't be treated when he is asleep.

Conquer and Departure[]

There are two different ending sequences, depending on quality of care. The Kamen Ridertchi has two different ending sequences:

  • Conquer: If the user severely neglects Kamen Rider, he will be defeated by Shocker Troopers, who will be shown posing triumphantly on the screen.
  • Departure: If Kamen Rider is given generally good care, he will eventually depart on his own to defeat new enemies far away. He will wave goodbye, and then be shown driving away on his Rider Machine, leaving a trail of sparkles.

In both cases, pressing A and C together will trigger a new Shonen Kamen Rider to appear.
