Kuchipatchi (くちぱっち Kuchipatchi) is a male Tamagotchi adult. His first debut was on the Original Tamagotchi, and is one of the main mascots for Tamagotchi along with Mametchi and Memetchi. His female counterpart is Yonepatchi.

Kuchipatchi has a round, green body with two large lips, beady eyes, stubby arms and legs, and light pea green cheeks. On the Tamagotchi L.i.f.e. app, he can also be pink or yellow.

Kuchipatchi has a carefree and gentle nature. He is mild and lazy, but very romantic and a daydreamer. He sometimes cheats if playing games. He has a supersized passion for food, especially Tama-Donuts, kinda like a relation to Pac-Man, and he also loves to take naps.

The Nintendo Power guide to the Tamagotchi Gameboy game stated: "Kuchipatchi is a middle-of-the-road kind of guy. It's generally quiet and polite, but neither its IQ nor its sports skills will light any fires."

Health Status

Kuchipatchi's health status as a character since 1996 has been fairly consistent, but has wavered over time. In the original Tamagotchi, Kuchipatchi could be obtained from Tamatchi with below average care, or Kuchitamatchi with perfect care. Going into 2004 with the Tamagotchi Connection releases, Kuchipatchi was often known for appearing in odd-numbered generations from above average care; this is true for Connection Versions 1 through 3 and also the Tama-Go. From the Tamagotchi Music Star onwards with the exception of the Tama-Go, Kuchipatchi is generally obtained with average care.

For the release of the Tamagotchi Movie, a blog was started to show behind-the-scenes images, featuring Kuchipatchi wandering through the film's studio. After the film's release, it became Kuchipatchi's personal blog, showing him touring Japan, and later Paris and Hawaii. The blog has since closed.

Anime kuchipatchi

Kuchipatchi, as depicted in the anime series

In the Tamagotchi movie and anime adaptations, Kuchipatchi is shown to have a family (Papapatchi, Mamapatchi, and twin siblings Chibipatchi). He also is very flexible, as seen when Kuchipatchi gets stretched into a trampoline to help save Tanpopo, Memetchi, Mametchi and an egg when they fell down a tall building. Because of his rubber-like body, he also sometimes bounces around uncontrollably. Eating is one of his favorite pastimes, and he often has food on his mind. It is revealed that Kuchipatchi has a habit of saying "dacchi" at the end of every sentence, and uses the word as exclamations as well. In the English version, he says "tchi" at the end of his sentences and "Ya-tchi!" when he's excited or agreeing with someone. In the English Tamagotchi Friends (anime), he goes back to his original Japanese "dacchi". He isn't too bright, and he sometimes talks about food when he is supposed to be thinking about something else.  He drools a lot.

Unlike other Tamagotchis, Kuchipatchi is supposedly shown to make occasional deep trumpet-like noises when he moves. However, since the other characters do not react to these noises, they are most likely not made by Kuchipatchi, they may just be coincidental sound effects.

In Tamagotchi: Happiest Story in the Universe!, it is revealed that Kuchipatchi is allergic to feathers since he sneezes enormously when one lands on his nose.  Also in this movie, there is a bouncing sound when Kuchipatchi walks; this is not audible in other Tamagotchi anime.

Name Origin

Kuchi means "mouth" or "lips", referring to Kuchipatchi's large beak.

The only way to tell them apart is by the number of hairs on their heads; one twin has one hair, and other has three.

In the anime version they say "yah-tchi" in the English version or "datchi" in the Japanese version; but one says "yah" or "da" and the other says "tchi".
