The Love-Friend Phone Himespe Phone (ラブともケータイ ひめスペフォン Rabu Tomo Kētai Himesupe Fon) is a toy replica of the Himespe Phone from the original Tamagotchi! anime series.

Appearance[]

The Love-Friend Phone Himespe Phone resembles the Himespe Phone from the Tamagotchi! anime series. It is a flip phone with a monochrome screen on the top part and buttons on the bottom part. The buttons available are a white cancel button, white confirm button, and four directional buttons in the shape of hearts. Like the anime series, the user can insert a faceplate into the top part of the phone and put a pink cover over it to hold it in place. The back of the bottom part contains a battery compartment and the speaker.

The phone comes with two faceplates and Tamamori stickers to customize them. Additional plates could be found and printed from the Tamagotch Channel.

Features[]

The goal of the Himespe Phone is to collect all 32 Tamagotchi characters by sending texts to fully bond with them. The phone features all raisable adults from the Tamagotchi iD L to text with along with a fortune telling mode which allows the user to have a variety of fortunes read. There are also minigames to play and the phone itself can be customized with wallpapers and ringtones.

Startup[]

When the Himespe Phone is turned on the user will be prompted to set the time and date. After those are set, the user must create their own profile by typing in their name, birthday, and answering questions using the answers given. Once the profile is created, Himespetchi will give the user a message.

Main Screen[]

The home screen of the Himespe Phone displays the time and date at the top while showing whatever wallpaper the user has set. Pressing any button will activate the menu which the user can scroll through using the left and right buttons. If there is no activity on the phone for 30 seconds, the phone will enter sleep mode which is prefaced by a screen of Himespetchi saying bye. Pressing any button will take the phone out of sleep mode.

Profile[]

Represented by a book icon, the user can view various profile options using the directional buttons.

  • My Profile: View the profile made at startup and make changes to it.
  • Wallet: View the amount of gotchi points earned from playing minigames
  • Wallpaper: Set the wallpaper for the home screen. Wallpapers can be earned by using the phone on certain holidays and by achieving certain goals.
  • Ringtone: Set the ringtone for the phone. Additional ringtones can be bought from the auction store.

Fortune Telling[]

Represented by Himespetchi holding the phone, the user can choose from two types of fortune telling.

  • Affinity: The user can see the how strong the bond level is between two Tamagotchis or between themselves and another person. The results are displayed by a heart which is filled depending on the bond level and a message explaining the bond.
  • Cards: The user can select what kind of fortune they want read (love, economic, study, and friendship). A card must then be selected from a deck and a message will appear explaining the user's fortune and how they can attain good luck.

Mail[]

Represented by a letter icon, the user can send texts to Tamagotchis on their Tama and Friends list. The user must select the recipient and then choose from a list of messages and emojis to create the text. Once the text is created the user has the option to attach an item to it. Sending texts to a Tamagotchi increases their friendship level and unlocks more Tamagotchi and messages to use in texts.

Auction Shop[]

Represented by Depagatchi in the TamaDepa store, the user can buy a variety of things. The auction shop's stock changes each day and sales randomly occur.

  • Items: Items can be attached to texts to increase the Tamagotchi's friendship level.
  • Tama App: Minigames can be bought to play in the Tama App menu.
  • Ringtones: More ringtones can be bought to customize the phone.

Tama App[]

Represented by a box with items popping out of it, the user can play minigames to earn gotchi points. The first three games plus password are available at the start; the next two must be purchased from the Auction Shop.

  • Tama Typing♪: A Tamagotchi will be shown with their name below them, missing some letters. The user must fill out the missing letters using the given letters at the bottom of the screen.
  • Mametchi★Heart Shooting: The user must hit Mametchi with a heart arrow while avoiding hitting Spacytchi.
  • Gift for Mametchi♥: The screen will show a few items. Mametchi will then appear and request an item. The user must remember how the items were placed in the first screen and pick out the correct item.
  • Tama Medal: The user must direct the claw to pick up a medal while avoiding obstacles in the way.
  • Gotchi High & Low: A card with a number will shown and the user must guess whether the next card will have a higher or lower number.
  • Password: The user can enter passwords from promotional material to unlock items.

Item List[]

Represented by a chest, the user can view the items they have bought from the Auction Shop and unlocked from passwords.

Friends List[]

Represented by a book, the user can view Tamagotchi they have sent texts to in the Tama List and other users they have connected with in the Friends List. Tamagotchi in the Tama List will have a meter below them showing their level of friendship.

Connection[]

Represented by a heart with connection lines, the user can connect to another Himespe Phone or a Tama Profy. Connecting with another device will exchange profiles and initiate a connection game where the winner is randomly decided. An exclusive wallpaper can be earned by connecting to a Tama Profy.

Settings[]

Represented by a UFO, the user can adjust settings for the device.

  • Alarm: The user can set an alarm to go off at a specific time.
  • Sound: Change the level of volume for the device
  • Contrast: Change how light and dark the screen is

  • During the first month of release, limited edition Himespe Phone plates were added as a free gift with any purchase of a Himespe Phone at Ito-Yokado. They were limited stocked and were first-come-first-served. The phone was also on sale at the time at 2,980 yen.
  • Gameplay of the Himespe Phone is similar to the Tama Heart Collection Tama Profy in that the goal of the toys are to collect Tamagotchi's profiles. The Himespe Phone differs in that collection of the profiles is done through sending text messages instead of collecting Tama Hearts.
