McDonald's is an American fast food restaurant chain, founded in 1940 by Richard and Maurice McDonald.
They are the world's largest fast food chain by revenue, serving nearly 70 million customers daily in over 100 countries. They are most well known for their hamburgers (called Big Macs), french fries, milkshakes, and other menu items. Since 1979, McDonald's has also served Happy Meals to children, which includes a special toy, usually serving as a tie-in for a film, television series, or similar product.
Involvement with Tamagotchi[]
McDonald's involvement with Tamagotchi goes back to the vintage era, where Tamagotchi was a part of the aforementioned Happy Meals shortly after its United States debut.
In Japan, McDonald's Happy Meal (known in Japan as Happy Set) toys were a significant product from the Tamagotchi! anime during its run. There was even an entire short film following the 2nd movie that revolved around Mametchi, Memetchi, Kuchipatchi, and Flowertchi helping Happyburgertchi at a McDonald's in Celebria.
Tamagotchi was one of 15 Happy Meal toys that was temporarily revived by McDonald's as part of the Happy Meal's 40th anniversary.
