Memetchi (めめっち Memetchi) is a female adult Tamagotchi character. She made her debut on the Tamagotchi Connection. Since then, Memetchi became a mascot character along with Mametchi and Kuchipatchi.
Following the release of the Tamagotchi! anime series and the introduction of several new female characters throughout, most notably the anime's breakout female lead Lovelitchi, Memetchi started to appear on merchandise and promotional material significantly less. However, she still remained a staple character and has appeared on almost every virtual pet release since her debut.
Her care status tends to be inconsistent depending on the release, such as good care in one and severe neglect in another, but her care is average in most releases. Her male counterpart is Mumutchi.

Memetchi's name is likely a homophonic pun on「目」(me, eye) and「女々しい」(memeshii, effeminate), referring to her personality and her big eyes.

Appearance[]
Memetchi's trademark qualities are her large sparkly eyes and springy curl, which always swirls to the right. Her eyes each have 3 eyelashes both on the top and bottom, and she had a wide mouth. Her body is orange and she has a large, round head, making her overall shape similar to a light bulb. Her arms and legs are very thin like sticks. In the original art style, they are the same color as the outlines, and in the anime, they are colored dark brown. Furthermore, her sprites and original art display her with a more yellowish tint, but her anime appearance has a more reddish tint that makes the shade of orange appear darker.
Though Memetchi doesn't normally have colored cheeks, she does on certain plush toys, artwork, and when she is blushing in the anime. They are usually a darker orange or reddish color, but they have been shown as pink or yellow in some artwork. When she is mad, her curl looks ragged and her cheeks go puffy.
Personality[]
Memetchi is a very stylish, feminine, child-like Tamagotchi who loves to have fun. She enjoys daydreaming, dancing, dressing up, and anything swirly, which is why many of her belongings have swirls on them. She's often seen with pink roll cake and swirly-faced teddy bears. Despite being bright and cheerful, she is sensitive and somewhat defensive of her appearance. If criticized, she will most likely stare and yell "You're being mean to me!"
Memetchi's personality is similar to how she is described in other media, except she is more stubborn and has a temperamental streak. She is a feminine young girl who is very sensitive about her appearance, and cherishes her perfect curl. Whenever she is having a bad hair day, she becomes very depressed, but if anybody insults her appearance, she becomes furious. She also loves beautiful dresses and accessories.
According to Imotchi in Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop 3, Memetchi wants to become a singer. This is also portrayed in episode 12 of Let's Go! Tamagotchi, but in the Tamagotchi! anime, Memetchi wants to be a hairdresser instead, possibly due to Lovelitchi filling in the role of singer. Some media also depicts her as being good at cooking, and fond of flowers. In Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop 2, Memetchi says that orange is her favorite color. She also loves pink. Her favorite foods are cupcakes and oranges, and she dislikes fish.

Memetchi is obtained on even generations with good (but not perfect) care. Its connection items are hats and maracas, shared with Kuchipatchi. When Memetchi marries, her child is capable of evolving into Kinakomotchi.

Memetchi is a gender-neutral adult that can be obtained on even generations with above average but not perfect care. When Memetchi marries, the child is capable of evolving into either Kinakomotchi or Kuribotchi. Memetchi sleeps from 10 PM to 9 AM, its favorite food is Cupcakes and its least favorite food is Shrimp.
Tamagotchi Connection Version 3[]
Memetchi is a gender-neutral adult that can be obtained on odd generations with above average but not perfect care. When Memetchi marries, the child is capable of evolving into either Mohitamatchi or Kuchitamatchi. Memetchi sleeps from 10 PM to 9 AM, its favorite food is Cupcakes and its least favorite food is Fish.
Keitai Kaitsuu Tamagotchi Plus/Akai[]

Chou Jinsei Enjoi Tamagotchi Plus[]
Memetchi is the mascot of the Meme Family, obtained from Young Memetchi and Ichigotchi if their highest Skill Points is Arts.
Memetchi is also capable of becoming the special character Makiko. Memetchi must have 200 Arts points by graduation, and then take the Idol job. Afterward, Memetchi's Arts points must be raised to 999 within 72 hours, which will also increase her job ranking to three stars.
Tamagotchi Connection Version 4[]
Memetchi is the mascot of the Meme Family, obtained from Young Memetchi and Ichigotchi if their highest Skill Points is Arts, receives good care, and has a high level of overall skill points. Memetchi is also capable of becoming the special character Makiko by raising the Arts points to at least 350, and having 450 skill points overall before the first matchmaker visit. Memetchi shares the same base weight, sleep times, favorite and least favorite foods as on the V3.
Tamagotchi Connection Version 4.5[]
Memetchi is an Adult-stage character in the Universal family. She evolves from Ichigotchi with bad care, or UFOtchi with good care. Her weight, sleep schedule, favorite and least favorite foods are the same as the V4.
TamagoChu[]
Memetchi evolves from Ringotchi with a high relationship level. It will eventually become Otokitchi.
Tamagotchi Connection Version 5[]
Memetchi is a high bonding adult that evolves from Chamametchi, Ichigotchi and Shelltchi with predominantly cheerful influence, and will evolve into Mememamatchi when getting married. Marrying her to Mumutchi at 100% bonding will produce the Meme Family, and the oldest Omututchi will evolve into Memetchi after an hour.

Memetchi is a low bonding adult that evolves from Chamametchi, Ichigotchi and Shelltchi with predominantly active influence, and will evolve into Mememamatchi when getting married on international versions, or Jyooubatchi on the original Japanese Royal Famitama. Memetchi is a raisable character exclusive to the Cosmetics Friends TamaSma Card for the Tamagotchi Smart. She is obtained from any female teen by feeding them the Guru Smoothie meal the most out of other card content.
Tamagotchi Connection (2024 Pet)[]
Memetchi is a gender-neutral adult obtainable on odd generations with above average but not perfect care. It is nearly identical from their appearance on the Tamagotchi Connection Version 3, with the exception of their least favorite food being Cheese rather than Fish—as the latter was either removed or is not available at the time.

Let's Go! Tamagotchi[]
The story of how Memetchi and Violetchi became friends was shown in "Do You Remember, Flowertchi?". Memetchi saved Violetchi from getting hit by a soccer ball, but in the process, she accidentally squashed her flowers. At first, Memetchi was offended that Violetchi was brushing off her apology, but Memetchi came back later to help fix the flowers. After that, she also helped Violetchi open up and be more outgoing. This showed that Memetchi's bright personality is contagious to those she befriends. The two of them have been shown making flower crowns for each other.
Tamagotchi![]
Memetchi, Mametchi, and Kuchipatchi have been friends since they were little. They share a much closer bond with each other than their other friends. She has stayed beside the two and supported them all the way. Whenever she is feeling down, Mametchi and Kuchipatchi would cheer her up.
Memetchi often hangs out with Violetchi and Makiko. She is also great friends with Lovelitchi, and was the first student to talk with her when she joined Tamagotchi School. They bonded over the charm on Lovelitchi's bag, and Memetchi really wanted to return it to her when Lovelitchi accidentally left it behind in "Tamagotchi School's Transfer Student". Like most Tamagotchis, she is a big fan of Lovelin.
Though they can be considered friends, Memetchi has been rivals with Makiko since they were very young. They get into constant arguments about who has the best curls in their hair, which are usually started by Makiko bragging about herself or making snide remarks towards Memetchi. They are often shooting glares at each other, especially during school. Mametchi sometimes steps in to put a stop to their arguments.
Aside from Makiko, Memetchi also has a tendency to fight with her little sister Imotchi. This is because Imotchi is blunt, smarter than Memetchi in some cases, and often smugly proves her wrong, which gets on Memetchi's nerves. They also don't like to share with each other and fight over things like hairbrushes or the last piece of cake.
Memetchi has a special talent, that is the ability to tell directions with her curl. By twirling it, she can scan her surroundings and determine the correct path to a destination. Sometimes her sensing talent can be faulty and cause her to go astray, which she doesn't like to admit. This usually happens when her hair curl is damaged, or wet from the rain. Her hair is delicate and it once broke, as seen in GO-GO Tamagotchi!. When she is completely without her curl, she loses all sense of direction and runs right into things.
Tamagotchi! Yume Kira Dream[]
After winning the robot soccer tournament with Mametchi and Kuchipatchi in "Let's Suceed! Golden Tama-Friend Shoot!" of the first series, Memetchi was one of the three chosen to study abroad in Dream Town. She chose to join the cosmetology department and it became her dream to become a renowned hair-dresser. Her homestay parents are Psychetchi and Chictchi, and she practices on customers at Salon de Dream. She enjoys making hair extra curly.
She later became part of the Kira Kira Girls band. She plays the saxophone on her Smapi.
Tamagotchi! Miracle Friends[]
Memetchi frequently confuses Miraitchi and Clulutchi for each other early in the series, even more than other characters do. She was also the one who gave Smartotchi's disguise the name "X-Kamen".
GO-GO Tamagotchi![]
After the event of Tamagottsun causes Tamagotchi Town and Dream Town to fuse together into DoriTama Town, Memetchi reunites with her family and friends from both locations. She now attends DoriTama School and goes on adventures with the friends he made throughout the previous anime series. In "Guruguru Battle! Memetchi vs Makiko... Again!!" she fights against Makiko in a contest to earn the title of director for the fashion department at school.
Tamagotchi! Tamatomo Daishuu GO[]
Memetchi appears in some More! Tama Talk at the Earth sequences that occured at the end of episodes.

In the short film Eiga Tamagotchi: Himitsu no Otodoke Dai Sakusen!, Memetchi and her friends go on a mission to deliver an egg to the Gotchi King as Spacytchi and his brothers chase after them.

Memetchi is either a selectable partner or playable character in the Tamagotchi Corner Shop games. The player helps her run various shops and upgrade them to royal status.
Tamagotchi Adventure Kingdom[]
Memetchi is a NPC that can be encountered in Guruguru Town. She initially helps Mametchi and Kuchipatchi fix up Guruguru Park. Once enough storyline quests are completed, Memetchi joins Mametchi's party. Her abilities shoveling help, detecting hidden items with her curl, and faster energy bar replenishing.

Usahana Memetchi is a pierce transformation exclusive to the Sanrio pierce for the Tamagotchi P's. Memetchi is dressed as the Sanrio character, U*SA*HA*NA, being colored after her and having flowers and birds surrounding her.

Princess Snake Charmer Meme is a pierce transformation exclusive to the Royal Change pierce for the P's. Memetchi is dressed as a princess with the ability to charm snakes. She wears a red dress, yellow headband, and has multiple green snakes acting as her hair and scarf.
Bouquet Memetchi[]
Bouquet Memetchi is a pierce transformation exclusive to the Anniversary Change pierce for the P's. Memetchi wears a blue dress with a hood topped with variety of flowers, making her resemble a bouquet. Her design was fan created and voted on in the Tamagotchi 17th Anniversary Contest.
Guru Meme Queen[]
Guru Meme Queen is a Personality Stage of Memetchi in both Tamagotchi 4U and 4U+, being the result of a Memetchi with 10+ Fashion points and a Fashion-oriented wallpaper. A Memetchi that's always at the top of her fashion game can take on this majestic form. No longer a trend follower, she's a trend setter, and her curls are the stuff of legend. This evolution can be reversed by changing the wallpaper.
MemeObatchi[]
MemeObatchi, or Obasan Memetchi is the second Personality Stage evolution of Memetchi, a result of bad happiness care, the result of 15% or less Happiness. Her name means Aunt Memetchi in English, though Obasan can also mean a woman in her 30's who is relatively unattractive. As a result of a Memetchi that's very unhappy for a long period of time, she's given up on her dreams of fashion. She's never dressed in style and usually sucking on some hard candy. This evolution can be reversed by restoring her Happiness to 30% or higher.

Police Officer Memetchi is a role Memetchi plays in the TAMAX-TV show, Thief Papillon. She works with Police Officer Kuchipatchi and Anpan Detective to stop Thief Papillon from stealing expensive artifacts from musuems.
Memetchi-Karō[]
Memetchi-Karō is a role Memetchi plays in the TAMAX-TV show, Princess Lovelin. She acts as an advisor for Princess Lovelin and tries to get her to do her princess duties. However, Princess Lovelin usually convinces her and Kuchipatchi to let her sneak outside the castle and the two must watch over her to make sure she doesn't get in danger.
Sister Memetchi[]

Sister Memetchi is a role Memetchi plays in the TAMAX-TV show, Mametchi the Vampire. She is a nun who lives in a church with other sisters. They often work together to protect the nearby village from Mametchi Vampire who seeks to spread evil on the world. Sister Memetchi often gets turned into a vampire by Mametchi and it's up to the other sisters to turn her back with garlic.

Imotchi is Memetchi's younger sister. Her skin tone is yellow and she has freckles. She doesn't have any sparkles in her eyes but she has eyelashes at the corners of her eyes. She isn't into fashion as much. She just wears a round, pink bow.
Mememamatchi[]

Mememamatchi is Memetchi's mother. She appears on the Tamagotchi Connection Version 5/Famitama and the Tamagotchi Connection Version 5.5/Celebrity. She has two curls on each side of her head, which is shaped like a raindrop. She wears a cream dress and has dark oval-shaped eyes with no sparkles.

- Her quote on the TamaTown Tama-Go is "Dreams should always be big!"
- When she blinks in the anime, there is a sound effect similar to a high-pitched tambourine.
- Despite being one of the series' 3 core characters, she only ranked as the 12th most popular female in the 2011 15th Anniversary Poll.
- She is the only one of the main trio to not originate from the 1990s era. Mametchi and Kuchipatchi both debuted on the first Tamagotchi, but Memetchi is from the Connection and Plus era.
- For the first time since the 2004 reboot, Memetchi was not featured in the base content of a mainline release in the Tamagotchi Smart. However, she later became available to raise through the Cosmetic Friends Smart Card.
- On the Tamagotchi Pix, Memetchi is the only adult character that does not have a negative reaction to the default bagel food.
- In the anime, it is mentioned that Memetchi has a grandma, but she is never shown.
- Memetchi shares her voice actress with Satsuki Kiryuin from Studio Trigger's Kill La Kill, as well as sharing her English voice with Nui Harime from the same show.
