Current artwork of Ojitchi.

Ojitchi (おじっち Ojitchi) is a Senior character and one of the final possible evolutions of male Tamagotchi characters. He originally appeared on the Mesutchi and Osutchi, reappeared on the Tamagotchi Connection and has reappeared on nearly all versions since. Along with Otokitchi, they are the first Osutchi and Mesutchi Tamagotchi to appear on a modern model, and the only ones to date with Ura counterparts, although the only thing different about the two with their Ura counterparts is the Ura Blue glow.

Appearance and Personality

Ojitchi appears as a head of an elderly man, with heavy eyelids that cover his eyes. He has two green, frail legs, and a balding head, having only two puffs of hair on either side and one long strand on the top of his head. His sprite artwork has also depicted him with bubbles floating on either side of his head, though their actual purpose is not known.

Ojitchi's personality was not fully defined with the release of the Osutchi, but it is said that he and Otokitchi always watch younger Tamagotchi fall in love, "warmly from the shadow".

In his modern form, he is depicted as a stubborn old man that refuses to be bested by younger Tamagotchi characters. From the Keitai Kaitsuu Tamagotchi Plus onward, he has also been depicted as a salesman, traveling around Tamagotchi Town with his cart, selling food and items to others.

On Specific Releases

Osutchi

Osutchi is considered a special adult who only evolves from ChoMametchi with perfect care, but never mating. Ojitchi himself is unable to breed (even with Otokitchi), so he is like the perfect care counterpart of Sutebotchi. He also appears on the prototype models during breeding, bringing the male adult a futon to begin the breeding process.

Modern Releases

On modern toys, Ojitchi evolves from any male adult who has gone through a long period of time without breeding. After evolving, Ojitchi will steady grow needier. Ojitchi can only breed with an Otokitchi, and the male baby will become Oyajitchi after the first hour. On the Tamagotchi Plus Color, female babies are also possible, and will grow into Gorippatchi after the first hour. On the Entama and Uratama, the Special Adults have an extra three days at their current forms before evolution occurs. Having Ojitchi for a while seems to count as a care mistake - he will eventually pass away of old age unless he has a child.

Salesman

Ojitchi also appears on several releases as a salesman. Every few hours, he appears with a cart, and offer an item to sell, which may be a meal, snack, toy, or item.

This began with the Keitai Kaitsuu Tamagotchi Plus, and was carried onto the Keitai Kaitsuu Tamagotchi Plus Akai and the Haneru No Tobira Tamagotchi. He reappears like this one the Chou Jinsei Enjoi Tamagotchi Plus, and Ura Ojitchi does this on the Ura Jinsei Enjoy Tamagotchi Plus as well.

Tamagotchi Connection Version 4 / V4.5

With the Tamagotchi Connection Version 4 and the Tamagotchi Connection Version 4.5, the senior stage is a means of retirement. Ojitchi will receive a letter from the Gotchi King, and will earn the job item "Walking Cane". From there, he can only wander the streets of Tamagotchi Town, and will always stop of his previous place of employment, clearly upset about retiring.

Tamagotchi Connection Version 5 Celebrity

Though Ojitchi does not appear as a character than can be raised, he appears on a television kissing Otokitchi when using the Home Theater item.

TamaTown Tama-Go

If you've recieved Ojitchi, it means you have neglected your male adult.

He appears at 4 or 5 if you take really horrible care.

Animated Appearances

Ojitchi makes a brief cameo appearance on Let's Go! Tamagotchi with Otokitchi. They appear briefly on television, sitting down and sipping tea as ChaMametchi flips through several different television channels.

In the movie sequel Tamagotchi: Happiest Story in the Universe!, Ojitchi and Otokitchi play minor roles. When they argue over an issue, Hapihapitchi appears to make them happy, and they make up to each other. Later on, they argue again, but refuse to make up on their own, requesting Hapihapitchi do it for them.

Ojitchi also makes several minor recurrences in the TV series, Tamagotchi!.
