Ojitchi (おじっち Ojitchi) is a senior Tamagotchi that debuted on the Osutchi and has since appeared on almost every modern Tamagotchi release to date. His female counterpart is Otokitchi.

Appearance

Ojitchi appears as a head of an elderly man, with heavy eyelids that cover his eyes. He has two green, frail legs, and a balding head, having only two puffs of hair on either side and one long strand on the top of his head. His sprite artwork has also depicted him with bubbles floating on either side of his head, though their actual purpose is not known.

Personality

Ojitchi's personality was not fully defined with the release of the Osutchi, but it is said that he and Otokitchi always watch younger Tamagotchi fall in love, "warmly from the shadow".

In his modern form, he is depicted as an old man that really can't stand being bested by other Tamagotchi characters. From the Keitai Kaitsuu Tamagotchi Plus onward, he has also been depicted as a salesman, traveling around Tamagotchi Town with his cart, selling food and items to others.

Alternate Forms

UraOjitchi

UraOjitchi (ウラおじっち) is Ojitchi's Ura counterpart. He looks and acts identical, except he emits a blue Ura glow.

Appearances in Virtual Pets

Osutchi

Ojitchi is a TMP4 character that evolves from ChoMametchi with perfect care, if he remains unmarried by the age of 13. Like Sutebotchi, Ojitchi will refuse to marry, and will get gradually more needy each day until he dies. His meal is a mushroom, and his snack is a bottle of sake. His base weight is 10g, and sleeps from 8 PM to 7 AM.

In early test versions of the toy distributed in August 1997, he also appears when a Mesutchi and Osutchi begin to mate, bringing the Osutchi character a futon. This was removed from the final version of the toy.

Tamagotchi Connection V1-V4.5

Ojitchi will evolve from any male adult if he has lived for a long period of time without getting married. Having him marry Otokitchi will result in the birth of a male baby that will evolve into Oyajitchi.

Keitai/Akai, Entama/Uratama

The conditions to obtain Ojitchi, and the results from marrying Otokitchi, are the same on these versions as on the Connection pets. On the Uratama, he is replaced with UraOjitchi.

Tamagotchi Music Star

Ojitchi will evolve from any male adult if he has lived for a long period of time without getting married. Marrying him to Otokitchi or Dango Obatchi will not yield any special offspring.

Tamagotchi Plus Color

Ojitchi will evolve from any male adult if he has lived for a long period of time without getting married. If he marries Otokitchi, the resulting offspring will become a special adult (Oyajitchi if male, Grippatchi if female, Tensaitchi Jr. or Tensaikotchi Jr on the Hexagontchi). If Ojitchi visits the Matchmaker, Otokitchi will offer herself as a marriage partner.

TamaTown Tama-Go

Ojitchi can be obtained through either severe neglect of any male adult (appearing as early as age 4) or having a male adult for a long period of time without marriage (as late as age 20).

As a Salesman

Keitai/Akai, Entama/Uratama

Ojitchi will appear carrying a cart at 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM, and will offer one item at random for sale, which can be a meal, snack, standard item, or ingredient (on the Entama/Uratama). He acts happy if the user accepts, and upset if he is refused. On the UraTama, this role is played by his Ura counterpart, UraOjitchi.

Animated Appearances

Ojitchi makes a brief cameo appearance on Let's Go! Tamagotchi. In the episode Super Heroine Chamametchi!, he and Otokitchi appear briefly on television, sitting down and sipping tea as ChaMametchi flips through several different channels.

In the movie sequel Tamagotchi: Happiest Story in the Universe!, Ojitchi and Otokitchi play minor roles. When they argue over an issue, Hapihapitchi appears to make them happy, and they make up to each other. Later on, they argue again, but refuse to make up on their own, requesting Hapihapitchi do it for them.

Trivia

  • On the Keitai, a new sprite was added as a new frame for his eating animation. On the V2 and V3, this was accidentally turned into his default sprite.
