Parent stage

Parent stage occurs when an adult Tamagotchi marries another adult Tamagotchi and they have a baby. This will render them into parent stage Tamagotchis. While in the parent stage, the player can continue to raising them while they watch over their baby.

After 24 hours have passed, the parent will leave: at midnight, the parent awakes and solemnly watches over the sleeping baby, before returning to Tamagotchi Planet. In the morning, the baby (in the baby stage) awaits naming.

If the parent is the first generation, the baby will be the second generation, and if they grow up and marry, their offspring will be a third generation Tamagotchi, and so forth.

Parent forms were introduced on the Tamagotchi Connection Version 5, but the only other release they have been featured on is the Tamagotchi Connection Version 5 Celebrity. Unlike earlier versions, the parents didn't stay in their current form and watch over the baby for 24 hours. Instead, they evolve into parent forms and stay until one of their children marries. They only appear after the second generation. In this stage, the parents do not stay on screen with their children. They do appear during meals and snacks, when giving medicine, when playing certain games, and during certain animations.

While they cannot be raised, Parent forms return on the Tamagotchi M!X and its various versions, and are able to be viewed by looking though the photo album and checking the entries of Tamagotchi who married or are descended from an NPC character. The m!x introduced numerous Parent forms of Tamagotchi breeds that previously did not have their own specific ones, such as Maskutchi and Mimitchi.

Parents in the Anime[]

Many parent Tamagotchis have made appearances in the Tamagotchi! anime series. Almost every characters in the series have parents, often consisting of a mother and father. Some parents from the Tamagotchi Connection Version 5 series migrated into the anime series, while some are exclusive to the anime series.
