Pencils, are common, cheap item available on several Tamagotchi versions that debuted on the Tamagotchi Connection as one of Mametchi and Mimitchi's exclusive items. They can only be used once on other releases, and only by adult characters, but multi-use variants in the form of pens are also available on most of said other releases.
When used, it will either show the Tamagotchi character writing, or on the Tamagotchi Connection Version 4, Version 4.5, Version 3, Tamagotchi Connection Version 2, and Music Star, the character will draw a picture or message and hold it up to the screen. The drawing varies from breed to breed.
