Tah-Dah! Opposing Program Quiz Battle (ジャジャン！番組対抗クイズバトル Jajan! Bangumitaitou kuizu batoru) is part 1 of episode 34 of Tamagotchi!.
Synopsis[]
Mametchi and the others divide into teams to appear in the TAMAX-TV program competition quiz battle. TamaPtchi wants Lovelin's team to win for ratings, but Mametchi's team has other plans. What will be the result of this exciting game?
Plot[]
The episode opens on TamaPtchi coaching Shikaitchi on how to make the quiz show easier for Lovelin so she can win, ignoring Shikaitchi's concerns about that being unfair. Shikaitchi then starts the quiz battle and introduces Lovelin and Memetchi's team first and Gotchiman and Mametchi's team second. After he finishes the latter team's introduction, Shikaitchi returns to the podium to begin much to the other unintroduced teams' protests.
He states that the winning team will get a great prize this year to which TamaPtchi explains to ADtchi that he knows the prize will be good for TAMAX-TV ratings so he wants Lovelin to win. Shikaitchi then asks the first question: "Who was the first guest star on Lovelin's Show?". Despite Mametchi pressing the button first, Memetchi's booth lights up and she gets to answer. As Mametchi looks confused, TamaPtchi talks to himself and notes that he delayed Mametchi's button so Lovelin's team can answer first.
The quiz show continues with Mametchi answering most of the questions, despite TamaPtchi messing with the answer button. TamaPtchi becomes worried and tells ADtchi that they have to intervene so Lovelin has a chance at winning. The next question has an obscured object gradually revealed and the contestants have to guess what it is. As Mametchi begins to realize what it is, he suddenly laughs and is unable to press the button before Lovelin, who correctly guesses that the object is an apple. Mametchi is confused again by what happened and the screen pans to ADtchi who is holding an extendable hand behind a backdrop, regretfully apologizing for tickling Mametchi with it.
As the show progresses, Mametchi is prevented from answering any questions. This includes having a pan dropped on his head, a burst of water throwing him in the air, and a trap door opening below him. The next segment has the contestants try to guess a song, with the ability to answer locked behind grabbing a ball in the air. When Mametchi goes to get a ball, he is yanked back by a rope tied around his waist. Luckily, the ball ends up coming to him after the other contestants knock the ball towards him. TamaPtchi panics and decides to intervene even more to stop Mametchi from winning.
TamaPtchi decides to throw in a personal quiz question, knowing that he only told the answer (golf) to Lovelin. Shikaitchi asks what TamaPtchi has been passionate about lately and Lovelin proceeds to answer something completely different to TamaPtchi's dismay. At the commercial break, TamaPtchi distracts Mametchi and Gotchiman as ADtchi takes away the answer buttons from their booth. Memetchi points this out to Lovelin and TamaPtchi tries to convince them to stay back while they find a replacement button, but Mametchi pulls out his own replacement button that he made for the situation.
Shikaitchi announces that the next question will be worth 1000 points and everyone complains as this means whoever answers correctly will automatically win, regardless of their standing. As he asks who had been with Lovelin for a long time and is always helping her out, TamaPtchi quickly runs to be behind the curtain and knocks Tamastetchi away in the process. TamaPtchi stands in place, confident that Lovelin will answer his name. Lovelin, however, answers Tamastetchi which causes TamaPtchi to fall to the floor in disbelief. Gotchiman spots glasses falling from the figure behind the curtain and correctly answers TamaPtchi, making his team the winner.
Later on, the prize is revealed: the actor in the winning team gets to guest star in all of TAMAX-TV programs for a week. Mametchi is happy about this, but Chamametchi and Hapihapitchi are disappointed that it's not Lovelin. As the TV announcer states that the winning actor also gets their show aired on a marathon the two become more disappointed. The next scene shows TamaPtchi and ADtchi overwhelmed and drowning in phone calls from TV watchers complaining about having to see Gotchiman so much.
