This article is about the Deka Tamagotchi character. For the brand itself, see Tamagotchi (franchise). Tamagotchi (たまごっち) is a Tamagotchi character that debuted on the 2004 Deka Tamagotchi.
Name Origin[]
Tamagotchi's name comes from the name of the Tamagotchi brand, which itself is a combination of the Japanese word "tamago" (たまご) meaning "egg", and the English word "watch".
Appearance[]
This Tamagotchi resembles a white handheld Tamagotchi digital pet. It has pink buttons, and a face on its yellow screen. It has yellow arms and dark blue feet.

Deka Tamagotchi[]
Tamagotchi is one of several possible characters that can be selected as the Deka unit's character. When a Tamagotchi Plus device connects to it, they will travel to the Deka and perform an animation with Tamagotchi. They will then return to the Plus, and Tamagotchi will grant them one of two gifts: a white Tamagotchi toy, or a black Tamagotchi toy.
Tamagotchi Connection Versions 1, 2, and 3[]
Tamagotchi's data is present on the V1, V2 and V3, but can't be accessed by normal means and can only be obtained by debugging the unit. As Tamagotchi's sprite set is incomplete, it will trigger glitched animations when using certain items or performing certain actions.
