Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop 2 (たまごっちのプチプチおみせっち ごひーきに Tamagotchi no Puchi Puchi Omisetchi Gohi-Kini) is a simulation video game jointly developed by Dimps and NaNaOn-Sha and published by Bandai Namco Games for the Nintendo DS.
It is the second game in the Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop series. It would be later followed by Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop 3. The player once again partners up with Memetchi, Mametchi, and Kuchipatchi to run a mall and upgrade all the shops to royal status.
Plot[]
The player and their chosen partner win 10,000 Gotchi Points from the Tama Lottery and decide to open up shops at the Tama Mall. At each shop, they must impress Princess Tamako who will keep expanding their shop until it is royal. As more shops are expanded, other types of shops will become available to purchase.
After all the shops become royal, the player is invited to a party at the castle where Princess Tamako refuses to marry Prince Tamahiko, saying that she wants to open her own shops, and she will marry him when she gets older. Many people believe it's a wedding, not a party. Reaching the ending unlocks Princess Tamako as a partner to play with.
Gameplay[]
Tamagotchi Corner Shop 2 continues the same gameplay from the first game, having the player choose a partner Tamagotchi and playing minigames at various shops to upgrade them all to royal status. This time, however, all the shops are located at the Tama Mall in Tamagotchi Town rather than being separated between three different towns. Princess Tamako also fully takes on the role of upgrading the shop when the player performs well enough, replacing the partner Tamagotchi's father from the previous game. A stamp system has been introduced where a customer can get their card stamped every time they visit a shop.
Outside of the shops, the player can care for their partner Tamagotchi like the previous game. The system remains the same, with the player being able to feed their Tamagotchi snacks, dress them up in clothes, and decorate their living space.
Once the player upgrades all shops to royal status and sees the final cutscene, a new mode is unlocked where the player can choose Princess Tamako as a partner Tamagotchi. The game is similar to when the player is using a saved file, only they cannot save data, and the only characters in this mode are the castle servants, Prince Tamahiko, the Gotchi Queen, and the Gotchi King.
List of Shops[]
Sushi Bar[]
The player runs a sushi bar and serves the Tamagotchi customers sushi, dessert, and drinks on a conveyor belt. This involves creating the sushi with the right ingredients, paying attention to if the customer doesn't want wasabi on their sushi and placing other requested items on the converyor belt.
Gas Station[]
The player fixes up the customer's car by filling it up with gas, replacing worn tires, cleaning the car up with soap, and buffing it with the right color wax.
Airport[]
The partner Tamagotchi works as a steward, giving requested items such as food, pillows, and blankets to passengers. The items must be placed on a cart in the right spot to deliver them to the right passenger.
Burger Shop[]
The player cooks up burgers for the Tamagotchi customers. The partner Tamagotchi will throw out ingredients and the player must catch the right ones to create the requested burger.
Cake Shop[]
Like the Bakery in the previous game, the player bakes cakes for Tamagotchi customers. This involves picking the right flavor mixture, baking the cake for the right amount of time, and then decorating it to the customer's specifications with icing and cream.
Bowling Alley[]
The player runs a bowling alley and sets up the pins for the Tamagotchi customers to knock down.
Florist[]
The player and their Tamagotchi arrange flower bouquets for customers. This is done by selecting the right flowers, wrapping paper, decorations, and putting it all together. Customers will ask for bouquets in specific sizes and colors.
Clinic[]
The partner Tamagotchi works as a doctor and must figure out what's wrong with the patients and cure them. If the Tamagotchi is shaking, the thermometer must be used to determine if they need an ice pack or a warm water pack. If the Tamagotchi is coughing, the shape and color of their cough determines what color medicine tablet they have to be given. Other treatments include massages and injection shots which require the stethoscope to determine what type should be given.
Concert Hall[]
The player and their Tamagotchi partner perform a song for other Tamagotchis to hear. There are six instruments to use and they must be tapped at the right time according to the rhythm given by the Tamagotchi. Occasionally, the song will prompt the player to make a sound in the DS microphone. In the middle of the song there will be a brief break to determine the performance so far.
Boutique[]
The player creates customized bags, hats, and clothing pieces for the Tamagotchi customers. This involves picking the right item, coloring it with the requested colors, and adding any accessories the Tamagotchi wants.
Sushi-Bowl[]
A combination of the Sushi Bar and Bowling Alley, the Tamagotchi will slide down the bowling lane to eat sushi. The customer will request a number of certain sushi and the player must place them on the lane. Where the sushi is place does not matter.
Music-Clinic[]
A combination of the Concert Hall and Clinic, the partner Tamagotchi will put on a concert with medical tools to cure the sick crowd. The player must tap the tools in rhythm to the song to heal the crowd.
Care Mode[]
The care mode appears again with little changes from the previous game. There are five tabs to pick from and poking the partner will prompt them to speak. The five tabs are:
- Snacks: For feeding or giving snacks to the partner. Feeding them is not necessary as there are no consequences if they're neglected. When fed, the partner will act happy.
- Clothes - For dressing up the partner. Clothes are unlocked as the player upgrades shops and once an outfit is bought, the player keeps it.
- Room - Items to customize the Tamagotchi's room. Including the layout, design, and so-fourth.
- Music - Pick from 1 of 3 songs, each based on Mametchi, Memetchi, and Kuchipatchi.
- Secrets - The player can trade items with another player or input codes to unlock secret items.

Game Comparison & Differences[]
Many of the Tamagotchis from the first game return while some don't. Many of the new ones are from the Chou Jinsei Enjoi Tamagotchi Plus, Tamagotchi School, and Ura Jinsei Enjoi Tamagotchi Plus. Besides that, other differences include:
- Shops located in one town instead of three separate towns.
- Care items are easier to unlock.
- A fourth partner can be played with.
- Some of the activities from the previous game have been upgraded in terms of features.
- A stamp system was added for the customers.
- In the first game, before upgrading to the Metchi or Gotchi rank, the partner's father goes in disguise and shows up as a customer. When upgrading to Royal, Princess Tamako appears.
- In the predecessor, the Gotchi Queen is referred to as "Princess Tamago".
- In this game, if the player takes too long to serve the customer(s), the music is replaced by a different, faster track, unless it is turned off.
- In the predecessor, the player could press the START button to pause the game. In this game, the player cannot. The game also cannot be paused during the conversation scenes, as the predecessor can.

This includes Masktchi, Ringotchi, Mememamatchi, Kurokotchi, Dododotchi, Oyajitchi (whose voice sounds lower), Young Mametchi (whose voice sounds a little higher), Babytchi (whose voice sounds slower and higher), ShiroBabytchi (whose voice sounds lower), Shiropetitchi (whose voice sounds a tiny bit higher), and Octopatchi.
- This is the only game in the Corner Shop series that has Princess Tamako as a playable character.
- On occasion, the partner Tamagotchi will reference the previous shops found in the original Corner Shop.
- In the English version of this game, Violetchi's color erroneously remains pink, her Japanese color.
- If the game is played on November 23rd, the partner Tamagotchi will mention the Tamagotchi franchise's anniversary.
- If the player taps their partner during care mode, initially they will get upset or angry but their reactions will change the more they are played with.
- The "working" music tracks for Mametchi, Memetchi and Kuchipatchi each feature their respective leitmotif from the first Corner Shop game, then transition seamlessly into their new themes.
- If the player upgrades all shops to royal status, they will be given a password (52815 99088) to unlock the Slide item for the Tamagotchi Connection Version 4.
