There is a new day and night cycle which affects which characters visit the shops. Gameplay[]
The general goal of each game is to run a variety of shops and fulfill the customers needs, getting the highest rating and raising the shop status from "Puchi" to "Royal". The player will generally pick a Tamagotchi character as their partner to run the shops with them, though some games set specific characters as the owner of a shop. Each shop has a minigame to play with the game becoming more complex and slightly harder as the shop's rating increases. The player's performance is rated out of three smiley faces. When the player's performance is good enough to raise the shop's rating, a character (usually Princess Tamako or the Gotchi King) will appear and upgrade the shop.
Outside of the shops, the player can interact with their partner Tamagotchi in their living space. They can feed them snacks, dress them up in clothes, and decorate the space with furniture. Unlike the Tamagotchi toys, there is no care aspect and feeding the Tamagotchi snacks does not affect anything. Later games allow the player to interact with customers that appeared in the shops, giving them the option to see their dialogue and feed them snacks as well. The customers appear in a hub and in some games, the player can control their partner Tamagotchi and walk around.
The games vary in their storyline in how in depth they are. Some are simple and just give the player the goal to upgrade all shops to royal status with their partner Tamagotchi. Others have the same goal, but add an additional problem the player may have to solve such as Madame Kiki competing with Mademoiselle Koko to have the best version of Celebria.
