The Tamagotchi Connection is a virtual pet released by Bandai Namco Toys & Collectables on July 10, 2024. It is a relaunch of the Tamagotchi Connection line made to celebrate its 20th anniversary. It was first teased on April 25, 2024, before officially being revealed on May 13, 2024. The model contains a hybrid of features from both the Tamagotchi Connection Version 3 and the Keitai Kaitsuu Tamagotchi Plus.
Design[]
The design of the 20th anniversary Tamagotchi Connection is nearly identical to the Keitai Kaitsuu Tamagotchi Plus, and by extension, the Tamagotchi Connection Version 3, with their distinctive small, cellphone-like antenna on the top left. Like the Keitai and unlike the Version 3, the antenna tip is an individually molded piece. The keychain attachment to the Connection is now standardized across all regions, featuring a standard ball chain rather than an O-ring or plastic tag, and identical in size and length to the ball chain used on the modern classic Tamagotchi replica models.
Shell designs include a mixture of replicas of Keitai and V3 shells, as well as new original designs. Replicas of Keitai models are made to be distinct from their originals by having modifications, such as being translucent with glitter or having a pearlescent finish. All shells have the new logo on top. Background prints vary by model; Keitai replica shells have background prints matching their originals, the global replica shells have the "Numbers" background used on the Version 1 and Version 2, and the new shells have new background prints that match their designs.
Features[]

The Tamagotchi Connection also features a password system is used to unlock new items to purchase using Gotchi points, similar to the V3 and Keitai. Bandai is set to post new passwords on their social media and the password list on their website. Every shell also includes a unique password for an item on the inside of the box.
Shops[]
- Main article: Tamagotchi Connection (2024 Pet)/Item list
The 20th anniversary Tamagotchi Connection features the shop from the V3 where a handful of items are offered at once and can be accessed at anytime. The shop restocks items at 12 AM, 3 PM, and 7 PM. Like the V3, secret codes can be entered at the shop by pressing the A button quickly three times until the shopkeeper makes a surprised face. Once the shopkeeper's expression changes, a code can be entered to unlock a secret item or food. Each released shell comes with a password.
Ojitchi's traveling sales cart from the Keitai is also featured, where one food or item will be offered for sale at 11 AM and 5 PM. The user can choose whether or not to buy the item on offer.
Games[]
There are fourteen games featured on the Tamagotchi Connection, with new games unlocked at each life stage. As the Tamagotchi grows older, certain games will begin to yield more Gotchi Points than before. Seven games are played with the user and the Tamagotchi, while the other seven are played through connecting to another device.
The games include a mix of games that appeared either on the Version 3, the Keitai, or both:
- "Get ♪" was featured on both the Keitai and Version 3.
- "Hoops", "Gotchi Point", and all of the connection games were previously exclusive to the Keitai. "RC Car 1" and "Building Block" are new versions of the existing games.
- "Bump" and “Heading” debuted on the Tamagotchi Connection Version 2 and were featured again on the Version 3. “Heading” was also featured on the Home Deka Tamagotchi Game King Playoff.
- "Flag", "Heading", "Memory", and "Sprint" all debuted on the Version 3 globally and on the Home Deka Tamagotchi Game King Playoff in Japan.
Standard Games[]
- Get ♪: The only game available at the baby stage. The user must collect musical notes while avoiding poop. The user is presented with 3 barrels that catch notes. To cycle between the 3 barrels, use the A button to move left and the C button to move right. If the user catches a poop or misses a note, the game ends. To beat the game, the user must catch 100 musical notes.
- Bump: Unlocked at the child stage. The goal is to push the opponent on the ground. When "PUSH!" appears on screen, the user must press the B button to stop the power meter before each round. The goal is to stop the meter when the bar is completely full. The fuller the meter the more likely the Tamagotchi will win. However, a Tamagotchi can lose a round even if the meter was completely full. The heavier a Tamagotchi is (i.e. its weight), the higher chance of winning.
- Flag: Unlocked at the teen stage. Requires the user to quickly select the matching flag once the Tamagotchi throws a black or white flag or both. When an arrow appears above the Tamagotchi, the user must press the corresponding button. If the Tamagotchi throws a black flag, press the A button. For a white flag, press the C button. For both flags, press A and C together. Periodically, an imitation arrow, black or white, will appear. It is much shorter than the flag arrows, and a shorter sound plays. If the user presses a button for an imitation flag, the Tamagotchi loses the game even if the next flag arrow to appear is the same as the imitation arrow. There are 9 levels.
- Heading: Unlocked at the teen stage. The user uses the A and C buttons to move the Tamagotchi left to right and the B button to jump and repel the ball with the Tamagotchi's head (called "heading" in soccer). The Tamagotchi can be made to jump as soon as the ball appears. The top prize is 400₲.
- Memory: Unlocked at the adult stage. The user uses the three buttons to repeat a pattern of arrows shown on screen. The pattern starts at two arrows, but will increase by one every three/four rounds until a maximum of eight.
- Sprint: Unlocked at the adult stage. The user must repeatedly press buttons to encourage their Tamagotchi to get to the finish line.
- Hoops: The Tamagotchi has to jump at the right time in order to knock a basketball into a net. Some balls will fall faster than others. Make thirty baskets to win.
Connection Games[]
Games played while connecting with another device require both users to select the same game mode and item.
- Gotchi Point: This game can be played without an item. Each Tamagotchi bets 10-30₲ and jumps off the screen. One will return with both bets of Gotchi Points and the other will lose the amount of Gotchi Points in the bet. Of the connection games, this is the only one where the user has no input.
- Ball: Requires Ball item. The user must press the A or B button continuously as much as they can within 10 seconds to keep their Tamagotchi balanced on a ball.
- RC Car 1: Requires RC Car 1 item. The user must press the A or B button continuously as much as they can within 10 seconds to race their car.
- Rope: Requires Rope item. Before connecting, each player has 10 seconds to mash the A or B button as much as they can to build up stamina. As stamina decreases at the same rate for both Tamagotchi, the one with the lowest initial stamina will lose.
- Building Block: Requires Building Block item. The user selects a block and will randomly win or lose.
- Balloon: Requires Balloon item. Before connecting, each player must choose one of three balloons. The balloons will inflate until they pop - one Tamagotchi will find a flower inside while the other will find poop.
- Trumpet: Requires Trumpet item. Before connecting, each player must get their Tamagotchi to mimic a song on the trumpet using the three buttons for different pitches. It is possible for both players to lose this game.
Connection[]
The Connection can connect to another Connection 2024 device via infrared; it cannot connect to previous versions of Tamagotchi Connection. The devices must be within 10 cm within each other and at the same height. Connection must also be done away from strong sunlight as it may disrupt the signal. There are three types of activities that can be done when connecting. Once an option is selected, the words "Stand By" will appear on screen and one user must press the B button on their device to initiate connection.
- Game: The Tamagotchi can play a game together. If both Tamagotchi have the ball, building block, RC Car 1, rope, balloon, or trumpet item they can play a game using those items. Otherwise, the Gotchi Point game is available to play with no items.
- Present: One Tamagotchi can send a present (food or item) to another. The present must be wrapped first by going to the present option under the Friend List icon before connecting.
- Visit: One Tamagotchi will visit the other and the two will interact for a short time before the visiting Tamagotchi returns home.
The more times Tamagotchi connect, the more the relationship between the Tamagotchi will develop. If the relationship level is raised all the way to partner, the next time the two connect, a baby will appear on both screens for the users to raise. Relationship levels can be checked through the friends option via the Friends List icon.
Next Generation and Death[]
Once a Tamagotchi is an adult, they have the option to meet another adult Tamagotchi and create a baby for the user to raise. This can be done by connecting to another Connection device and building up a relationship with them or by letting Otokitchi the matchmaker bring a partner. Otokitchi will appear once a Tamagotchi has reached an old enough age. If the user does not let their Tamagotchi find a partner by a certain age, the Tamagotchi will grow into the senior stage. At this point, Otokitchi will no longer appear and the user can only raise the next generation by letting their Tamagotchi marry another adult or senior stage Tamagotchi on another device.
A senior stage Tamagotchi will live indefinitely until the user neglects them enough for the Grim Gotchi to appear. Once a Tamagotchi has died, pressing the A and C button will restart the life cycle and give the user another egg to hatch.
