Baby Stage

Babies born from marrying the two senior characters will always be male, the gender is random otherwise.

Teen Stage

Any toddler can become a Universal teen with sufficient neglect. Otherwise, each toddler can become one of three different teens. The specific teen the toddler becomes is random within each level of care and gender. Care seems to be different depending on the ROM version.

Bad care means 4 care mistakes or more in either category (physical or emotional) in the first versions, and 3 care mistakes or more in either category in later revisions. Ok care means being exactly 1 care mistake away from bad care in either category. Good care is anything better than that.

Adult Stage

When evolving into Universal adults, the specific character is determined by care. Good care happens with less than 2 mistakes in both categories, and bad care with 3 or more in both. Anything in between would be ok care. When evolving into any of the other 3 groups, the specific character is determined by the highest skill.

Mame, Meme and Kuchi teens will evolve into characters of their own group if their skill points are high enough (at least around 50), low points will result in an Universal adult. However, even if the points are high, teens that were given bad care will always become Universal adults.

Universal teens will need to have even more skill points than the others (around 100) to avoid becoming Universal adults. If they do get enough points, they will choose randomly which of the other 3 groups to evolve into.

On the later ROM revisions, the minimum amount of points required to avoid becoming an Universal adult was increased significantly for all teens.
