Tamagotchi Lets TV! Play Tamagotchi Resort is a dedicated plug-and-play video game console released exclusively in Japan by Bandai in 2006.

The console is contained within a trackball controller that plugs into the TV. It features connectivity with the Ura Jinsei Enjoi Tamagotchi Plus, Chou Jinsei Enjoi Tamagotchi Plus, and Tamagotchi School.

Appearance[]

The console consist of two controllers: a yellow one that acts as the main controller and connects to the TV and a blue one that connects into the main controller. The controllers have a trackball on them which can sense 8 directions and one button which is used to select.

There is a design surrounding the trackball containing 8 arrows to indicate direction and featuring artwork of Mametchi, Memetchi, Kuchipatchi, and the Royal Servants. Below the button there is an IR sensor which is used for connecting to the Uratama or Entama.

Features[]

There are 13 available games to play with some games being playable with 2 players. The player can choose to play as Mametchi, Memetchi, or Kuchipatchi with additional characters being unlockable by sending them from the Entama or Uratama.

The game starts out in Tamagotchi Town and the goal of the game is unlock all locations and fill the player's house with souvenirs bought from the shops. There are 5 locations to visit and each has a shop and games to play.

Shop[]

The shop sells souvenirs that can the player can collect and tickets which are used to play the games. There are three types of tickets available:

  • Red Ticket: The cheapest ticket that allows for one game to be played
  • White Ticket: Lets the player play as many games as they want in one location
  • Rainbow Ticket: The most expensive ticket that lets the player play as many games as they want in multiple locations

Locations[]

Mame City[]

  • Quiz Game: The player will be given a series of questions to answer. In order to make a choice, the player must chase after the booth which is running away to see the choices and make a selection.
  • Sliding Puzzle: The player will have to solve 3 given sliding puzzles. The faster the puzzles are solved, the more gotchi points are earned.
  • Maze Game: The player will need to navigate a maze full of blocking signs and tornados to get to the exit in the center. Touching a tornado will send the Tamagotchi flying up in the air for a short period of time.

Guruguru Town[]

  • Ice Curling: After spinning a wheel to choose where the highest point slot will be, the player must navigate the puck as close as they can to that spot.
  • Gondola Ride: The player controls the gondola ride and must keep the cursor within the red spot on the meter above.
  • Go-Kart Race: The player will race against an opponent on go-karts. There are obstacles to avoid and powerups to hit which will give the player a boost of speed.

Patchi Forest[]

  • Log Jump: The player will race against an opponent on a river. They must jump on logs and be careful not to fall in the river. Each player has 5 lives and the winner is determined by who gets the farthest.
  • Dirt Pile: The player controls Onsenmoguratchi who are working to pile warm dirt on other relaxing Tamagotchis. The player who piles dirt on the most Tamagotchis win. Piling too much or too little dirt will result in less points.
  • Hot Springs Race: The player will race against an opponent in a Hot Spring slide. The one who makes it to the end of the slide first wins.

UraTama Town[]

  • River Race: The player must make it to the end of the river by avoiding whirlpools and rocks. Occasionally a falling star will appear on screen and touching it will give the Tamagotchi the ability to fly in the air for a brief time.
  • Circus Run: The player's Tamagotchi will be balancing on a ball. They must collect ten stars while jumping to avoid incoming circus performers.

The Beach[]

  • Gotchi King Wash: The Gotchi King is dirty and it's up to the player to wipe away all the dirt using a towel.
  • Royal Servant Dance: The player will be controlling a royal servant as they dance. The servant at the top of the screen will dance and the player must remember what moves they did and copy them when it's their turn to move.

Connectivity[]

The player can connect their Uratama or Entama to the console by picking the Tama Station option in the connection menu on the device. The current Tamagotchi will be unlocked as a playable character on the console and will leave the device for a short time. After 3 minutes, the Tamagotchi will return and may bring back gotchi points, job coupons, bikkuri dating cards, or nothing.

If the Tamagotchi School is connected, the user can unlock exclusive items and students (a Royal Servant or Gomasuritchi) on the device.
