The Tamagotchi Paradise (たまごっちパラダイス Tamagotchi Paradaisu) is an upcoming color-screen virtual pet set to be released by Bandai worldwide, with a release date of July 12th, 2025 for Japan, Europe, and Australia, and August 1st, 2025 in North America.

History[]

A trademark for the name Tamagotchi Paradise was filed in Japan on January 7, 2025, and was published on the 16th.[1] The trademark would not be discovered until late February of the same year.[2]

A tie-in comic book dubbed "Tamagotchi Paradise Episode #0" was released on May 3rd, 2025 for Free Comic Book Day, and a digital version of the first few pages of the comic were uploaded to the official Tamagotchi Paradise website, with more pages being added on May 16th and a tease for more info on May 21st.

On May 20th, 2025, product info appeared on the official Tamagotchi website, fully revealing the device and all of its features.

Backstory[]

As detailed in the tie-in comic, thanks to all of the love the people of The Earth have shown to the Tamagotchi for 29 years, the Tamagotchi Planet became overwhelmed with the love, which caused a volcano to erupt with large eggs that were scattered throughout space. These eggs hatched into new Tamagotchi Planets, smaller Gaiatchi brimming with new Tamagotchi life. Caregivers entrusted with a Tamagotchi Paradise device must care for one of these new planets by maintaining the Tamagotchi characters developing in its variety of ecosystems; what ecosystems the eggs are hatched in, along with how they're cared for and fed, will determine which species will evolve and thrive on the planet over time.

Design[]

The Paradise has a color-screen and bears a resemblance to the Tamagotchi Pix in some ways, likely sharing a similar size and having printed graphics for the cracked-egg screen borders. The top half of the shell also has a cracked-egg design and is colored differently from the rest of the shell body; though, unlike the Pix, it can be flipped open and reveals a dock port for connection similar to the Tamagotchi Osutchi and Mesutchi. Unique to the Tamagotchi Paradise is an antenna on the right side with a dial, which can be turned to zoom in and out on the device's screen. The dial features a clear window on the outside, a printed pattern of two arrows facing opposite directions inside.

Features[]

Dial[]

The dial found on the antenna on the right side of the Tamagotchi Paradise will be able to be turned clockwise or counterclockwise, causing the screen to zoom in or out on the planet and showing users their Tamagotchi at different perspectives. The user can zoom into four different levels:

  • Tama Space: View the state of New Tamagotchi Planet at a cosmic level.
  • Tama Field: View the state of the land and see Tamagotchi roaming around and interacting with placed objects.
  • Tama: View a Tamagotchi and feed, clean, and care for them.
  • Tama Cell: Zoom inside a Tamagotchi's body to view their cells and cure diseased cells if the Tamagotchi is sick.

Tama Fields[]

Main article: Tama Field

Tama Fields are specific areas of the planet where environmental factors will impact the growth of the user's Tamagotchi. There are three main areas: Land, Water and Sky. Each harbors unique species of Tamagotchi, along with different foods to feed and activities to do. The different device shells start the user off in the matching area, and the other two are unlocked later through gameplay.

Food and Items[]

Main article: Tamagotchi Paradise/Item list

Outdoor items can be placed around the Tama Field to attract guest Tamagotchis.

In addition to food having an influence on what character a Tamagotchi may involve into, special juice under the Snacks menu can be used to change the current color of the Tamagotchi's body. Besides juices for specific colors such as pink or sky blue, there are also juices that can turn the Tamagotchi into a random pastel color or a random vivid color.

Space Travel[]

Whenever poop is cleaned up, it is added to a biofuel tank. If the user has collected enough poop, they will be able to take their Tamagotchi (and up to two guest Tamagotchis) to themed planets on a rocket ship. On a visited planet, the user's Tamagotchis will meet an NPC and receive a gift. The gifts are accessories that the user can decorate their Tamagotchi Planet with. There are multiple planets which can be visited:

  • Sweet Planet: TBD
  • Relax Planet: TBD
  • Foodie Planet: This planet resembles Food Town. Users can encounter characters such as Happyburgertchi, and receive accessories like the Bento Beret.
  • Art Planet: This planet resembles Toy Park. Users can encounter characters such as Crayontchi, and receive accessories like the Artist Beret.

Games[]

  • Arrow: This game is the same as Left or Right on the original Tamagotchi. The user uses the A and B buttons to guess whether the Tamagotchi will face left or right, with at least 3 out of 5 correct guesses counting as a win.
  • Flags: The Tamagotchi will hold up a white or red flag, and the user must react quickly by pressing A or B in response. The A button is for the white flag (left) and the B button is for the red flag (right), and the Tamagotchi will try to trick the user by raising their flag up only halfway.
  • 3 UFOs: Three UFOs appear at the top of the screen, and one of them will beam the user's Tamagotchi up. The UFOs will then shuffle around, and the user has to correctly select which of the UFOs contains the Tamagotchi.
  • Walking: The Tamagotchi will walk vertically in an environment. The user must rotate the dial to change the direction the Tamagotchi moves on the map, to avoid obstacles and help the Tamagotchi reach the treasure.

Egg Hunt[]

The user can choose to go on an egg hunt at a volcano or spring, and select up to 3 Tamagotchis to go. The Tamagotchis will then collect a number of eggs that burst from the volcano or spring and they will hatch into supplies such as food or snacks.

Growth[]

There are over 50 Tamagotchi characters to raise, including a few secret characters. The characters are separated into twelve different species; what food the user feeds their Tamagotchi and what Tama Field they are in determines what species they will grow into. For example, feeding a Tamagotchi in the land biome a carrot will cause them to grow into a Tamagotchi with rabbit-like features.

Breeding[]

Additionally, the user can breed two compatible Tamagotchi to unlock new characters. Similar to the mix mechanic from the Tamagotchi m!x and On, genes from the parents are combined and passed down to future generations. However, this is limited to eyes and body color and the resulting child will have a new body all together. There are 50,000 possible combinations of Tamagotchi the user can get.

If the user raises a new Tamagotchi, they are logged into the Compendium which keeps track of all the Tamagotchi characters the user has discovered.

Connection[]

Like most modern Tamagotchi devices, two Tamagotchi Paradise devices can connect and interact; though, the Paradise uses physical dock ports similar to the OsuMesu for two characters to meet. The user's Tamagotchi will be taken to the moon where they can interact. Depending on species compatibility, the Tamagotchi will either get along well enough to start a family or will dislike each other and play prank, even escalating far enough to start a fight.

Lab Tama[]

TamagotchiLab Device

The Lab Tama is a Deka Tamagotchi set up by the Tamagotchi Lab at participating stores. The user can connect their Tamagotchi Paradise to it and send their Tamagotchi to a Tamagotchi Planet being researched by the lab. Once connected, the user can download exclusive items, play minigames for prizes, or try to breed their Tamagotchi to obtain a new character.

Accessories and Add-Ons[]

Additional accessories will be released for the Tamagotchi Paradise, such as lanyards and carrying pouches. Each one seems to come with a shop code that can be used on the device for an accessory or item.

  • Neck Straps: Two lanyards (Blue and Pink) will each be sold for for 1,100円 (~$7.60USD). The lanyards feature base characters in the design and have a loop at the bottom to carry the Paradise using the charm hole. They also have a lobster claw.
  • Carrying Pouches: Four pouches designed after characters (Mametchi, Meowtchi, Irukatchi and Horhotchi) will each be sold for 2,640円 (~$18.25USD). Each pouch features the character's head in which a Paradise can fit, with a clear, plastic window on the back, a zipper on the top and a strap to carry the pouch. Notably, there is a small hole where the dial will stick out, suggesting users are able to use it while in a pouch.
