Tamagotchi Plaza, known in Japan as Tamagotchi Little Little Shoptchi: Thank You For Waiting! (たまごっちのプチプチおみせっち おまちど~さま! Tamagotchi no Puchi Puchi Omisetchi: Omachi Do~Sama!), is a shop simulation video game and the next installment in the Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop series. It was released worldwide for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on June 27th, 2025, and it was published by Bandai Namco Entertainment and developed by Hyde, Inc. and NicoLabo Inc.
The game was announced during the Nintendo Direct presentation on March 27th, 2025, where it was originally revealed for the Nintendo Switch. A "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" was later announced during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct presentation on April 2nd, 2025, featuring additional content, upgrades, and mouse functionality.
Plot[]
The game opens with Prince Tamahiko bringing the player from The Earth to Tamagotchi Planet on a UFO. He apologizes for taking the player so suddenly and after arriving, he introduces the player to Mametchi, Memetchi, Kuchipatchi, Mimitchi, Bubbletchi, and Unimarutchi. They are members of the official Tamagotchi Fest Bid Committee formed by Prince Tamahiko, and he traveled all the way to The Earth while scouting for the most suitable chairperson. The player is assigned the role of chairperson and their chosen partner Tamagotchi acts as their vice chairperson.
It is revealed on the Tama Social Network that the Gotchi King got himself the latest GotchiPad, but after spending too much time online and spending lots of money on online shopping and gourmet food delivery, he and Princess Tamako had a fight. Because both he and his daughter enjoy shopping, he gets the idea to hold a Tamagotchi Fest which will spread joy across the world through new shops and businesses. Many towns have applied to be the host for the upcoming Tamagotchi Fest, including Putchi Hill, Celebria, Nicelebria, Lookalive Isle, Dream Town, and Tamahiko Town. The Tamagotchi Fest Bid Committee aims to boost the reputation of Tamahiko Town so that it is ultimately chosen as the ideal candidate to host Tamagotchi Fest.
Gameplay[]
As a continuation of the Corner Shop series, the gameplay consists of working in a variety of shops and completing tasks for customers efficiently to receive good evaluations on their work. High evaluations may lead to the shops being upgraded, with the main goal being to upgrade every shop to a Royal status. Some shops also have local multiplayer functionality.
The game is more open to explore than previous titles, with the player able to freely control their choice of Mametchi, Memetchi, Kuchipatchi, Mimitchi, Bubbletchi, and Unimarutchi between shops to explore and meet a wide variety of Tamagotchi characters from across the franchise. Players can also pick up trash, talk to other Tamagotchi characters and complete tasks around Tamahiko Town, as well.
While the player can play as their chosen partner Tamagotchi in the plaza, each shop has a specific manager that cannot be changed. The player can change their partner Tamagotchi by holding a meeting in the committee room and selecting a new vice chairperson.
Features[]
- Tama Social Network: A social media network where various Tamagotchi characters share posts and updates, such as when new shops are opened or upgraded.
- Guest List: A list of customers the player has met. Each guest has a brief biography and expressions the player can cycle through. Different souvenir photos can be unlocked by talking to or completing a task for them.
- Reputation: The player can check their Tamahiko Town's current reputation, which is displayed as Heart Points that can be increased by helping customers, upgrading shops and completing various tasks around town.
- Remodeling: The player can remodel the committee room, including changing the song that plays, and decorate King Tamahiko the First's statue.
- Profile: The player can check their name and birthday, and change the theme on their in-game mobile phone.
- Develop the Square: Gotchi can be used to upgrade areas of the town square, which will boost the town's reputation. The areas are Tamahiko Garden, Tategami Park, Friendship Square, and Trend Palette.
- Reputation Analysis: Talking to Picochutchi in the committee room will prompt her to calculate Tamahiko Town's likelihood of being chosen to host Tamagotchi Fest. She will then suggest one of the shops that is most in need of improvement.
- Code: The player can access "Tamahiko Tour" for Uni functionality, or "Gift" to input a password.
List of Passwords[]
Passwords have periodically been shared online by the social media accounts for Tamagotchi Plaza, where entering one in the "Gift" menu unlocks different décor or music for the Town Hall. These 6-digit alphanumerical codes are case-sensitive.

Plaza Link[]
- Main article: Tamagotchi Uni/Item list#Plaza Link Items
The game also has connectivity with the Tamagotchi Uni[1], which was added to the Uni in update Version 2.4.0. The "Plaza Link" option can be found under the Door icon, where users can play the "Hand Out Flyers" minigame and receive an 8-digit alphanumerical Tour Code afterwards. Inputting this code in Plaza under the "Tamahiko Tour" option in the Code menu prompts a cutscene, which shows Prince Tamahiko arriving in his UFO and capturing photos of various things before taking off. An 8-digit alphanumerical Parting Code is then displayed, which can be entered on the Uni to receive either 500 Gotchi Points or an exclusive accessory/furniture item. This also increases reputation in Plaza by rewarding some Heart Points, as well as 100 Gotchi Points in-game.

There are 12 shops in total on the original Nintendo Switch version, and 15 in total on the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. The first ten shops are able to be opened from the start, with the two combination shops and the Switch 2 exclusive shops able to be unlocked later.

Trivia[]
- Tamagotchi Plaza is the first Tamagotchi video game to release for a major console since Tamagotchi no Puchi Puchi Omisecchi Ninki no Omise Atsumemashita in 2017, and the first on a home console (though, the Switch is considered a hybrid between a handheld and a home console) since Tamagotchi: Dance Fever! in 2007.
- It is also the first console game to release outside of Japan since 2008's Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop 3 in North America and PAL regions.
- Furthermore, it is technically the first Tamagotchi video game to be multi-platform, releasing for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Despite that, it remains exclusive to Nintendo hardware, as there isn't any plans to release the game on PlayStation or Xbox hardware, or on any other digital distribution services such as Steam.
- Due to the length of time between the previous installment and this one, the Japanese subtitle "Thank You For Waiting!" (おまちど~さま! omachi-do sama!) could be seen as a double meaning from both the developers to fans of the series, and as a common phrase from shopkeepers to customers.
- Tamagotchi Plaza is the first Tamagotchi video game to receive an E10+ (Everyone 10 & Up) rating by the ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board). All previous video games were either rated E (Everyone) or unrated.
- There are textures that can be found in the files of the game for Mametchi and Kuromametchi in the style of the Tamagotchi! anime, possibly suggesting the game could have been in a different art style resembling the anime or Tamagotchi Adventure Kingdom, rather than the final game which more resembles the style of the modern artwork.
