Tamagotchi no Kira Kira Omisetchi (たまごっちのキラキラおみせっち), translated as Tamagotchi's Sparkling Shops-tchi, is a Japanese-exclusive Nintendo DS game released by Bandai in 2008. It is set in Celebria, featuring new characters from the Tamagotchi Connection Version 5 Celebrity.
The game is the fourth installment in the Tamagotchi Corner Shop series and is followed by Tamagotchi no Pichi Pichi Omisetchi.
Plot[]
On Earth, the player meets Mademoiselle Koko, a famous celebrity from Tamagotchi Planet. She explains that she wants to make Celebria into a popular place where celebrities shop, before asking the player if they can shine bright enough to help them out. However, she sees someone else "who shines brighter than them" and drives away.
Madame Kiki then appears and asks the player for help in making people happy at Celebria. She takes the player to Tamagotchi Planet with a spaceship and asks them to help out Mametchi, Memetchi, Kuchipatchi, or Violetchi in running the shops successfully. The group explains that Madamoiselle Koko, who is Madame Kiki's sister, is running her own version of Celebria so they need help in making sure their Celebria isn't overtaken by Madamoiselle Koko's.
Once the player unlocks all the shops, Madame Kiki holds a celebration for the completion of Celebria. However, the power suddenly goes out from all the extra power being used by the shops. Mametchi then reveals his new invention that will power Celebria using everyone's happiness from visiting the shops. Upon hearing this, Madamoiselle Koko asks for help as her Celebria has also gone without power. Madame Kiki lets her use Mametchi's invention and is happy that her sister is willing to let others help her now.
Gameplay[]
Like the previous two games, the main objective of the game is to work in a shop with a Tamagotchi partner and expand every shop until they are renovated to the Royal status. All four partners stay inside a tower in Celebria and the player may switch between them at any time. The tower can be decorated and the partner Tamagotchi can fed snacks and dressed up in clothing. There is no hub world like the previous game and the care mode is limited to inside the tower.
Halfway through the game, players can unlock a shop run by Chamametchi where they can design their own clothes.
Shops[]
McDonald's Celebria Shop[]
The player works at a Mcdonald's and serves the customers their orders. This involves looking at their order, making the correct selections on the cash register, and then picking the food off the conveyor belt to put on the tray. To fulfill drinks, the correct cup size and drink type must be selected before filling it up.
Yum Cha Shop[]
The player runs a Yum Cha restaurant and serves various Chinese snacks, drinks, and treats. Steamed dishes are cooked in steam baskets and the player must cook them for the right amount of time. Snacks, drinks, and desserts can be simply placed on the table. Once the food is ready to serve, the player can spin the table around to serve the food to customers.
Tour Flight[]
The player and their partner Tamagotchi take customers on a blimp tour to Celebria, Mame City, or Patchi Forest. The aircraft appears on the DS's top screen. On the DS's bottom screen, there is a grid with a star that shows the aircraft's position. The stylus is used to drag the star around to move the blimp. The player must fly through rings and avoid obstacles such as planes or UFOs.
The player starts with three hearts as health and can refill it up to five hearts by flying through rings. Hitting an obstacle loses a heart and losing all hearts will end the game early.
Dress Shop[]
The player creates dressed that the Tamagotchi customers ask for. This involves selecting the right top and bottom part of the dress, color, and shape. The player must then choose the right patterns and frills before applying decorations.
Perfume Shop[]
The player combines and brews ingredients to create perfumes for the Tamagotchi customers. This requires selecting the right perfume bottles and the right combination of ingredients. Customers will specify what colors and objects they want. For example, if a customer specifies "green", "yellow", "fruits", and "flowers", than the player may make a perfume with either a green flower and a yellow fruit, or a yellow flower and a green fruit. Customers will also specify how much of the ingredients are needed so if red appears twice, two red items should be used.
Once all the ingredients are selected, they must be mixed together in the cauldron by using the rod to stir it. Fanning the fire will spped up the process, but if the fire is too strong it will cause an explosion. As the perfume is stirred and heated, it will filter through a tube and start to fill the perfume bottle. When the perfume bottle is full, cap it.
Special Makeup Shop[]
The player gives the customers makeovers using makeup and decorations. The player must follow a picture of what the customer wants on the top screen. A first coat must be applied to the customer's face before anything is added. Once the coat is applied, various accessories can be added. Some customers will ask for their face to be painted with a specific color.
Jewelry Shop[]
The player creates jewelry from precious gems. The gems must first be mined from rocks and the player must use a magnifying glass to identify the color gems the customer wants. The gem then has to be dug out with a pick and cut into the shape the customer wants. Cutting the gem too long will crack it. The next step is using the cloth or blowing on the gem with the DS microphone to remove the dust from it. Once the gem is clean, the player must select the right display for it.
Fireworks Shop[]
The player puts on a fireworks show for the customers. The fireworks will be lined up under a fuse and a flame will move across it. The players must tap a firework when the flame is under it to shoot it off. Failing to tap in time will cause the firework to fizzle out.
Jewel Fireworks Shop[]
The shop is a combination of the Jewelry and Fireworks Shop. The player puts on a fireworks show using fireworks made out of jewels. Gameplay is the same as the Fireworks Shop, but with a higher difficulty level.
My Brand[]
This shop is similar to the Dress Shop and is run by Chamametchi. The player can design their own dresses, name the shop, and decorate the shop's interior. The player starts with a small amount of dress pieces and more can be unlocked by reaching a certain number of customers served. Once the player has finished creating a dress, they can choose what price it should be sold for.
Completed dresses can either be put on display in the shop or kept in storage. Customers will come into the shop and the player will have to choose a dress to sell to them. Customers often have preferences for certain kinds of dresses.
