Hello, how do you send welcome messages?

i don't know sorry =(

do you have a favourite tamagotchi character?

Spammy/plagiarism pages

I've seen plagiarism, such as TamagotchiMusic Star Growth Chart which I think was made by Tama-Star_Girl and this image was uploaded by "Efeana". There are also empty pages that say Add text here! and pages like Tamagotchi PC which are useless. Since you are the admin, I am asking you for help....

Personality description of previous generation Tamagotchi characters.

Say, I was wondering about the previous Tamagotchi generation characters. Most of their pages are often in second person perspective. You don't suppose those contributors in back in 2007 just copied it from the book, you suppose? ---TacticalMaster (talk) 07:50, August 21, 2013 (UTC)

Tamagotchi Connection Version 1: The Care Messages

Hey Osu, Kaumi just replaced the care messages with a..."more wiki style," but I don't approve of that. But then, I'm getting a concern since "bad care" is "awful care." Or maybe is that how Bandai made those care terms?

Since I think you play a lot of old Tamagotchi (the fact that you contribute a lot to the old Tamagotchi toys), do you think the care messages should stay like that or should be..."modern?" ---TacticalMaster (talk) 21:30, October 15, 2013 (UTC)

Character Lists

Hey Osu, if you're still there, can I ask you a question?

When did this character list "standard" started? I think I remember it being started on the Connection series... Kaya is doing all of it. But he didn't started it. I think you did, apparently... And he just followed it up. But the thing is, I'm kind of skeptical with the character listing. After all, wouldn't it be better if the reader just goes directly to the character page by clicking on the name in the old, simplified list rather than just view it all on a complicated list? Because the character pages may also connect to other next-stage character transformations if the reader looks up on it. ---TacticalMaster (talk) 00:26, August 22, 2014 (UTC)

I conceived character lists back when the Wiki first started. I originally had it as lists for each type of character: baby, child, adult, etc. But now we have a page for every character, and the new character lists are acting more like growth guides. There's a tremendous amount of potential here, but to take full advantage, we need to make the process more streamlined and ensure there is a standard formatting that all future character lists must adhere to. For many of the versions, we've just dumped all of the character names on a section of the page, like on the Chou Jinsei Enjoi Tamagotchi Plus page. It's not informative or clear cut, and anyone just coming in is going to have difficulty going through that. On the other hand, not all of the list have followed the same standard of formatting (like how different the Tamagotchi Angel list and the Plus Color list are from each other), and some have been needlessly complex.

I'm working a few propositions on how to best sort this all out, but at the moment, I'm also attending college and job hunting, so it might take some time before I can show off any ideas. However, if you have any suggestions, feel free to share them with me and the rest of the staff. Osumesu21 (talk) 01:46, August 22, 2014 (UTC)
I guess you could be right. More people would prefer a visual list than a worded list. It's just that I didn't liked the "in with the new" on this wiki. I even still liked the current and dated background design as well and I'm not sure how I can live with it being replaced. ---TacticalMaster (talk) 20:32, August 28, 2014 (UTC)

Mamapianitchi

Say, just where did you get the name "Mamapinaitchi?" ---TacticalMaster (talk) 20:24, October 3, 2014 (UTC)

I got "Mamapianitchi" from the official Japanese Tamagotchi website's character page. Here's her image. The name field reads "ママピアニっち" (Mamapianitchi). Osumesu21 (talk) 20:35, October 3, 2014 (UTC)
Ah... I see. Though I was wondering why she was still called "Cafe Mama" since YKD debuted. ---TacticalMaster (talk) 20:37, October 3, 2014 (UTC)
"Cafe Mama" is her nickname in the series, and "Mamapianitchi" is her official name. I guess her page just hadn't been updated in a long while. Osumesu21 (talk) 21:00, October 3, 2014 (UTC)

Mimikotchi Wake and sleep

Hi, just wanted to ask you about something. It says on the wiki that Mimikotchi wakes at 9:00 and sleeps at 10:00, while on mimitchi.com, it says she sleeps from 11:00 to 23:00 (11:00 PM). I'm not sure which one is true, although maybe they both are. Just wanted to clarify since you posted it on her article. Thanks. -XXKayaXX PS. I put on the mesutchi/osutchi wake/sleep times project I started in my userspace that she sleeps from 10 until 9. you can find that here: User:XXKayaXX/Mesutchi and Osutchi WS Project.

I'm running a Mesutchi and Osutchi pair right now, and I have Mimikotchi. 10 is when she fell asleep, and 9 is when she woke up. I don't know how Mimitchi.com has that other time, but that's what I have here. Marumimitchi is the same. From what it seems, characters of every stage wake and sleep at the same hours, with the exception of Sutebotchi and Tsuketchi (11-11), and Debutchi (who wakes and sleeps at the previous characters' hours). Osumesu21 (talk) 19:33, November 7, 2014 (UTC)
Ok, thanks for clarifying. It's good to know the wiki has the right information and I've corrected it on my project page. Thanks. -XXKayaXX

Hi! There's something I'd like to talk to you about

Um, hi. My name is Halo1081 and I'm an admin on Aikatsu Wiki. TacticalMaster suggested I talk to you and/or two other admins about this. Earlier Kaya was causing a ruckus and ignoring policy and it ended with me giving him a 3 month block. I know Kaya isn't a bad person because I've talked to him on an acquainted level, but I need to know just what is up with him. Is there a reason he does what he does? Please contact me on the chat if you can/will. If not then my talk page is fine. Halo1081 (talk) 23:06, November 26, 2014 (UTC)

Ura Sprites- blue outline?

Should the Ura characters' sprites have the Ura blue outline? Right now Ura Mametchi is the only character who has a sprite with that style. I also noticed the Akai characters all have red outlines, so it seems like maybe the Ura Tamagotchis should have blue. Bluecake (talk) 14:46, December 7, 2014 (UTC)

Seems like it'd be a good idea. On the official site, the color used to portray the Uratama LCD color is #2657A6 (HSB 217, 77, 65) (RGB 38, 87, 166). I'm at work at the moment, so I won't be able to edit the sprites until later tonight. Osumesu21 (talk) 15:50, December 7, 2014 (UTC)
It's ok, I've already started changing some of them, and I'll probably finish the rest sometime today. Bluecake (talk) 19:19, December 7, 2014 (UTC)

Tabbers

I was wondering if the tabbers for virtual pets/video games/animation could be used for the infoboxes on this wiki. I was thinking it might be nice to have a list of all of the appearances right at the top of the page, and it would be useful for characters that haven't appeared on virtual pets. I put tabbers in Bukutchi's infobox, since the character already had an infobox, but he hasn't appeared on any virtual pets. But I feel like an admin should approve this, I don't want to put a bunch of tabbers on pages if it isn't a good thing to do. Bluecake (talk) 03:02, December 20, 2014 (UTC)

I think it's a great idea. I've been curious as to why characters that appear only in the anime or games were forbidden from having infoboxes. They're incredibly useful, for example, Lovesoratchi's page. A while back, I proposed the idea of having a general template for character infoboxes that could be used for characters from any medium, though none have been developed so far. This is a step in the direction I imagined. Just edit with caution and forethought, as always. Osumesu21 (talk) 05:10, December 20, 2014 (UTC)

Featured Media and Character

Want to decide on new featured article(s) for the front page? Pretty much already done seeing Lovesoratchi and his face. So why not we try something different? We can even ask our admin associates as well. :)  ---TacticalMaster (talk) 01:38, January 17, 2015 (UTC)

Oceangotchi: 5 or 6?

XXKayaXX CONTRIBUTIONS
TALK – 15:40, October 24, 2015 (UTC)
I'm curious. The growth chart on Tamagotchi Ocean says: "The teen will reach the adult stage at the age of 5". But what's interesting is that my Ocean was still in its teen stage at age 6, so I'm not sure whether it should say it becomes an adult at age 6, unless of course it's like the Original Tamagotchi, where if you hatch it during the day it evolves at age 2 into a teen and age 5 into an adult, and if you hatch it after dark it evolves at age 3 into a teen and age 6 into an adult. I think it may actually be whether you hatch it before/after 7 PM makes the big difference.
Yeah. It's like the classic Tamagotchi in how it ages; if you hatch it earlier in the day, it evolves at age 5. And yes, hatching after 7 PM makes all of the difference; the earliest a Tamagotchi sleeps is at 8 PM, so if you hatch too close to that hour, a time where they could've evolved has to carry over into the next day, since the classic pets don't evolve when they sleep. Re: tamagotchi mothra characters

XXKayaXX CONTRIBUTIONS
TALK – 13:34, January 28, 2016 (UTC)
Well, you see, reason I was changing them back to their raw names was because the characters haven't appeared on an English release yet, and I always conclude that if there's a character has never appears on an English release that character has no official English name. Just their Japanese name from the release they come from, there isn't an English adaption of any kind. I mean, it's kind of like this case; this aforementioned character from Tamagotchi 4U+ doesn't appear on an English release and therefore has no English name.

Besides, I'm getting pretty frustrated with people constantly reverting my edits. The only reason I was reverting them back is because it's gone on too long. It's getting pretty irritating seeing revert after revert against my edits and what else is there to do?

Back to the naming thing again, the release of the Tamagotchi Friends introducing official English names is a different matter altogether. As is the English releases where it's almost completely clear that: English release, Translated names, otherwise noted.

One more thing, I've heard several reasons why people are changing official names to unofficial translated names (here's another instance of this) is because "We don't have x" and examples of other unoficially translated names. Then we had it being an English wiki, which doesn't have anything to do with it anyway, and as far as I'm aware, all that really matters is that we keep everything official.

Tamagotchimoji

A couple of days ago I saw the post you made on your Tumblr where you showed a picture of the Tamagotchimoji writing system as one of the many shared elements between the Tamagotchi and Digimon franchises. I've just started playing the Playstation game to start recording information from it, and I've just noticed that the writing system is used on a couple of buildings in the game.

I'd like to create an article on Tamagotchimoji sometime soon, and I was wondering if I could ask you for permission to use the image of the manuscript's alphabet that you posted on your Tumblr in the article, since I should probably ask and make sure whether you'd be ok with it or not before just going ahead and doing it anyway. It's one of the two images of the Tamagotchimoji alphabet I've seen, the other one being on binary's Photobucket account. I'd prefer to use that one in the article since it's more detailed, but I don't know where to contact him for permission to do so. Azureinferno (talk) 05:29, April 10, 2018 (UTC)

Heya. Sure, you have my permission for that. Osumesu21 (talk) 06:01, April 10, 2018 (UTC)

Seniors on the Keitai and Akai

I've been trying to learn more about the care mistake system on the modern releases prior to the Entama, and recently learned on SA311's Tumblr that the V1 utilises a similar growth system to the one described on Pixelmood about the Keitai, as in there are two different kinds of care mistakes - emotional and physical. That aside, reading about care mistakes on the Keitai reminded me of when I was reading your log on Tama Zone way back when.

You've had an Ojitchi and Otokitchi die before on the Keitai and Akai respectively, right? I know it's been more than a decade, but is there any chance you could possibly remember if you were allowing them to rack up care mistakes through normal neglect? IIRC you said that you were woken up once by your Otokitchi dying, so maybe one of her stats fell to emptiness while you were asleep and she got a care mistake that ended up killing her.

I'm a little confused as to how the senior stage works (I've only ever had an Ojitchi once, on an Uratama, and didn't want to take my chances so I got it married immediately after it evolved), like if their care mistakes meter naturally goes up as they get older until their age means they have enough care mistakes to die, or if they could potentially live forever as long as you make sure they don't get care mistakes the normal way, and if they're like the vintage releases and the rate at which they lose hearts gradually speeds up as they age. Azureinferno (talk) 13:03, May 18, 2018 (UTC)

It's been quite some time since I've run one of the 2000-era pets, but I'll tell you what I know, at least from my experience. Once the Tamagotchi hits the senior stage, they seem to gradually become more needy, with hearts dropping at a faster rate. So it's easier to lose track and have the hearts all drop down to completely empty. While normally this wouldn't be a big issue in any stage before, it seems to count as a care mistake right away for the seniors. They do have the potential to live forever; I've seen other owners run up to the age of 99 and beyond. But that would require making sure the hearts never go completely empty. In my case, I wasn't trying to kill off my Ojitchi and Otokitchi; I never try to kill any Tamagotchi, for that matter. I was trying to see how long I could keep them going for after finding out they couldn't breed. Osumesu21 (talk) 03:02, May 19, 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for clearing that up! If I get my hands on a Keitai like I'm planning to try do in a couple of months, I'll try get one of the seniors sometime and see how long the attention icon lasts for before it turns off, maybe get a pair and aim for Oyajitchi. I wonder if they're like the Entama and Uratama where the more care mistakes a Tamagotchi has the less tome the attention icon remains on, or if it's the same regardless of the amount of care mistakes. Since the mistake-reversing medicine isn't on the Keitai series, it might be a good idea if I test the results across separate generations or devices. Azureinferno (talk) 11:33, May 19, 2018 (UTC)

Hi, I see you posted some special gotchi images (preferably Music star) did you get them from the .swfs? Have you kept any outside of WayBackMachine? Or know where I can find anybody that has hidden .swfs used in the tamatowns? Thanks!

Why wouldn't you differentiate them from the English models? Not only do they predate them and have their own histories, marketting, and lore, all of which are still accessible and continuing unlike the English lines, it's far more confusing to have them merged into a single entry where the English models are treated like the more releveant and contemporary models, rather than just treat them like the individual releases they are, because that is exactly what they are. Bandai America and Bandai Japan went in different directions with the Tamagotchi IP right from the get-go even if things are similar. The Plus line and the Tamagotchi Connection line ARE two different things. Please do not erase these differentiations.

Sabitspooky (talk) 03:33, December 10, 2018 (UTC) Sabitspooky

It appears you misunderstand how this Wiki is set up, so I'll clarify. We keep releases that are functionally identical as one in the same article. For example, we don't have separate pages for the Tenshitch no Tamagotch and the Tamagotchi Angel. As I said in my comment on your own page before, there is very little differentiating the Tamagotchi Plus and the Tamagotchi Connection V1 aside from some language and some sprites; they are otherwise identical (and as a personal anecdote, I own both the English and Japanese versions, and ran them for many years). This is in contrast to, for example, the Entama and Version 4, which are functionally different beasts altogether despite having features and characters that overlap. Our intention of putting the English-native version first of a global release is primarily to ensure accessibility, as most of the people who visit this site are English speakers and have the English Tamagotchi franchise as their primary frame of reference; it easier to say one unit was called something else in a different region versus having two separate articles with the exact same information but with different names. Additionally, you did not run by these major format changes by me or any of the other admins first. Osumesu21 (talk) 03:39, December 10, 2018 (UTC)

Hello, and welcome to the Tamagotchi Wikia. The reason I deleted the article you added was because we already have a category (Category:Vintage Tamagotchis) dedicated to the 1996-1999 virtual pets. Osumesu21 (talk) 05:16, December 26, 2018 (UTC)

NeoMame Gudetama

Quick question on the gudetama growth since you've been working on the page. What counts as bad care? I've hatched them, given them 1 meal or snack, then completely ignored them but I keep getting facedown Gudetama. Which is average care. NeoMame (talk) 20:03, February 3, 2019 (UTC)

Hello. We're still determining how exactly the growth patterns work on the Gudetama; that form of Gudetama seems to take the place of the mid-tier adults on the Nano, which is why we have it placed and marked as such on the Gudetama character page. Out of curiosity, did you prevent any chopstick attacks, or cheer it up when it started sulking? Osumesu21 (talk) 21:45, February 3, 2019 (UTC)

After hatching I would give it a single meal or snack then completely ignore it. Not pushing a single button until it evolves. So no preventing chopsticks, cheering it up, or turning lights off. Each time I've gotten a new egg dish at least.--NeoMame (talk) 21:59, February 3, 2019 (UTC)

A few questions

Do you know where we can find the artwork for the child and teen characters for the Tamagotchi Meets? I know you uploaded artwork for the baby characters, so...

Incidentally, which characters can you obtain on a first generation and how do you obtain them? I haven't found a growth chart yet and I'm kind of confused.

Actually, there's something else as well. It's not relevant to the above, but it's something I was hoping you could answer. A while ago I wanted to know whether the Entama died on five care mistakes in total over the course of its life, or in a single growth stage. --Sy74kya (talk) 11:13, April 2, 2019 (UTC)

In addition, what do you think of the idea of combining the four Tamagotchi Nano licenced release character and shell lists and seperating them with headers? That way, they're four small pages all together to make one and link all four release pages to it. Just a suggestion. --Sy74kya (talk) 11:21, April 2, 2019 (UTC)

The artwork came from the website showing the Tamagotchi Meets collaboration with Yomiuriland. The other child and teen characters are in the image, and I'm working on extracting and uploading them individually. As for the growth patterns, I don't own a Meets myself; the information on how to obtain each character in the first generation that we have shown on the character list page was curated from other sites and accounts from other users. As for combining character and shell pages for the Nanos, while I understand what you mean, I feel it's better to keep the pages separate, as we do for the subpages for other releases. Osumesu21 (talk) 12:23, April 2, 2019 (UTC)
Oh, and for the Entama: I'm not sure about how care mistakes equate to death directly, as I've never experimented with death on it before. Osumesu21 (talk) 12:24, April 2, 2019 (UTC)

Character names in other languages

Hey there, mind if I ask a simple question? Err...

Do you know if Tamagotchis have names in other languages? ---TacticalMaster (talk) 22:22, June 12, 2019 (UTC)

Honestly? I never really thought about it. It's likely some names have been changed for localization in other territories. But from my own personal experience, even browsing Tamagotchi sites in other languages, I've only ever seen the English ones. I might poke around to see if there are any major name differences worth mentioning though. Osumesu21 (talk) 01:44, June 13, 2019 (UTC)
I see. Thanks for the info. I'll wait to see about it. ---TacticalMaster (talk) 23:32, June 15, 2019 (UTC)

Purpose of Tama Hearts

As a fan of the franchise, I need some information about the Tama Hearts so that I can edit the page immediately. Can you help me to do two things....

  1. What happens when the Tama Hearts are gathered?
  2. What are the names of the remaining Tama Hearts?

New poll

Hope this isn't too much trouble! I suggest a new poll be added to the front page as the current one has been there for a long while.

Maybe one relating to Tamagotchi On? Either which shell design fans like most, or which of the characters introduced on the Meets/On they like most.

Perotchi (talk) 11:01, August 7, 2019 (UTC)

Redundant category

I noticed there are two categories which are pretty much the same: Tamagotchi characters and Tamagotchi Characters, the only difference being the capitalization. It seems a bit confusing to have both, but of course new categories are easily created and it could end up happening again. Nonetheless, could you merge them or delete one of the categories, if that's possible?

Perotchi (talk) 17:28, August 17, 2019 (UTC)

If you don't have access to a bot, I can remove Category:Tamagotchi Characters from all pages for you. The infobox is automatially adding Category:Tamagotchi characters, so as long as they all use that infobox it should be fine. Let me know. —Moviesign (talk) 19:57, August 17, 2019 (UTC)
That would be really great, thank you. Only issue is that not every character page has the new infobox in place yet; I've been working on adding them manually, so it's slow-going. Osumesu21 (talk) 02:31, August 18, 2019 (UTC)
I'm sorry, for some reason I did not get notified that you had replied to this, or maybe I just missed it. Shall I go ahead with the category removal, or should I wait? I might be able to add a blank infobox to the pages that are missing one, but I'm not sure, I'll have to investigate. —Moviesign (talk) 16:21, August 24, 2019 (UTC)
That would be great, thank you. And no worries about the late reply, it happens. And if you can't add the blank infobox, that's fine. Osumesu21 (talk) 16:41, August 24, 2019 (UTC)
Done! And I managed to put the blank template on the pages that need it. :) —Moviesign (talk) 23:33, August 24, 2019 (UTC)

Tamagotchi meets/ON

Just to confirm- are you sure Mokofuritchi for instance is obtained with 6 or more care mistakes and happiness below 20? Every single time I've neglected a child character I've ended up with either Penribotchi with high happiness or Mettotchi with low happiness. I've had Mokofuritchi several times and I took quite good care at child stage. Somehow I doubt Terukerotchi is obtained with neglect and high happiness.

I think Penribotchi and Terukerotchi need to be swapped. And Mettotchi and Mokofuritchi should also be swapped. I don't know if Mokofuritchi is high or low happiness but I'm 99% sure it's a 3-5 care mistake teen.

Did the growth chart change for the English localisation, prehaps? Sy74kya (talk) 12:11, August 20, 2019 (UTC)

As far as I'm aware, there have been no changes in how the On grows compared to the Meets; all of the child adult evolution methods work the same, from my observations, and Hanbunkotchi evolves the same way as on the Meets. I'll poke around elsewhere and see if anyone has had similar experiences to yours. Osumesu21 (talk) 13:12, August 20, 2019 (UTC)

64000th edit!?

When I saw my badges of my profile, I discovered this badge. What does actually the 64000th edit mean? Did I made the 64000th edit for the whole wiki or is that something else?Void Termina the Destroyer (talk) 08:53, August 27, 2019 (UTC)
Yup, that's exactly what it means. Congrats! Osumesu21 (talk) 23:50, August 27, 2019 (UTC)

Hello again

I did not say this before because I am rather ashamed by certain things I did in the past, but... I am Himespetchi on a new account because I lost the password to the old one a long time ago, and couldn't recover it because I used some mailinator account. I tried to get my account back by talking to the Wiki staff themselves a long time ago but it didn't work out. Could you remove my Himespetchi account from the list of Admins under the Community tab, since I can't get into that account anymore?

If you need proof that I'm the same person, uhh I guess the only way you can tell it's me is because of the way I do the anime episode pages. Thank you!

Perotchi (talk) 05:45, August 31, 2019 (UTC)

I was in the neighborhood and saw this. Removed admin status from User:Himespetchi. —Moviesign (talk) 19:33, August 31, 2019 (UTC)

For the first time in years I've learned some new tamagotchi trivia. Had no idea about Iyatchis. Have there been any more images of them you could upload? Now I'm curious lol

There are a few more images of them in the book, but I'll have to get better resolution scans of those pages. I've seen so far Iyatchi versions of Mimitchi, Kuchipatchi, Babytchi, Zuccitchi, and Oyajitchi. Osumesu21 (talk) 19:11, September 7, 2019 (UTC)

Was that all the Itatchi shown? Gonna add it to my blog. Very weird and creepy. Looking up the book online I just noticed itachi Nyantchi on the back cover along with more simpler pics of itachi Ginjirotchi and Kutchipatchi

Shipping Article

Hello, Osumesu21.

I've noticed that you've deleted my article on shipping.

I understand and respect the fact that you formed this wikia and because you formed this wikia, you make the rules, but that article was in its infancy and I was about to provide more context, but I had a dentist appointment at the time.

If Bulbapedia can have dedicated shipping articles, why can't Tamagotchi Wikia? incerely,

MametchiforMarioKart9 (talk) 00:25, December 11, 2019 (UTC)MametchiforMarioKart9

Hello. In order to preserve a standard of quality across the Wiki, we primarily focus on official Tamagotchi material, whether it be the virtual pets, video games, animations, etc. Therefore, we do not make articles focused on fan theories and content, such as shipping discussion. In regards to shipping, it's better practice to have sections in the articles discussing each character's relationships with others, though I see you've already begun that practice. I sincerely appreciate your enthusiasm for helping out with the Tamagotchi Wiki and look forward to what more you have to come up with. Osumesu21 (talk) 13:17, December 13, 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for the Welcome!

Hey! Thanks for the welcome. I'm really enjoying helping the community so far. I'm so excited to help even more than I already have.

Bossalyn (talk) 00:42, January 4, 2020 (UTC)

(Klonoa13) Hello! Just here to thank ya for welcoming me to this wiki! :) I'm still new to Fandom Wiki in general so my apologies if this is not the right place to go to.

Vandalism

A user named Kraken Attack keeps vandalise pages of this wiki, including changing some Tamagotchi names (e.g. Tamagotchi P's) into irrelevant names. I did research and this user also vandalised other wikis, so can you please ban him? Thank you. Void Termina the Destroyer (talk) 04:00, April 19, 2020 (UTC)

Character pages for the iD L

From what I can see, it seems like the original iD L is the only iD L release that has a character page. I want to add information for the 15th and Princess Spacy versions, but would you guys would prefer for me to put them on their own pages as with rereleases such as the Akai, or as separate tables on the iD L page as has been done with the Nano, m!x and On? Help with a vandal

There's a user by the name of Midorikawa_hina going around and spamming their headcanons/fanfiction on a bunch of pages. Me and Void Termina have been reverting the edits and asking her to stop since there's no evidence to suggest that what's being added is factual (not to mention they completely change every time she starts from scratch after a reversion), but she hasn't responded to the messages we left on her talk page nor has she relented. If there's any chance you could try get her to stop, we'd be really grateful. Azureinferno (talk) 16:08, May 8, 2020 (UTC)

Hello. I've suspended Midorikawa_hina for a month with a warning about inserting false information into articles. Thanks for the heads up. Osumesu21 (talk) 16:10, May 8, 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for doing that. Azureinferno (talk) 16:18, May 8, 2020 (UTC)

Quotes

Since many wikis have the quote template in the articles, I think we should add a template of that, so people can know more about them by looking at a random quote.

Also as Color-screen Tamagotchis have dialogues, I think it's better to have such template. Can you help me to ask other admins for the idea? Thank you. Void Termina the Destroyer (talk) 11:41, May 16, 2020 (UTC)

Warning

Can you please warn me?

Mijujt Wikiki is my alternate account. He has vandalized on this wiki. Please warn me!!

Please send help!

Hello! I am Stickipedia. Excuse me, but can you direct me to the code rippers? I just need help digging up the mix grandparents, currently I'm stuck on the Maskutchi parents. I was forced to use mobile phone pictures. Who can get me the sprites and names of the new and old m!x Photo grandparents? Originally known as Parent Stage. Whoever can help, send them to me. I've been editing here all week! I've been struggling to develop the Tamagotchi On/M!xable_Characters by myself. Due to the inactivity of the main forum, I'm going to send this to each administrator, as I'm trying to fill the many holes in this small wiki.

Stickipedia (talk) 03:12, May 18, 2020 (UTC)

Hello. Unfortunately, I don't have the technical knowledge for ripping Tamagotchi sprites from the the color-screen models. However, if you're interested in trying, I would recommend joining the TamaTown Discord server (you can find the link on Tamatown.com) and asking the folks in the hacking channel. They've been working on lots of interesting stuff on the technical side of the virtual pets. Also, while I appreciate your contributions and desire to expand the Wiki, I'm hurt by your claim that this wiki is both small and inactive; I founded and have been maintaining it for 13 years, and I'd like to say that I'm proud of my work and the contributions from every member from over the years. Osumesu21 (talk) 04:40, May 19, 2020 (UTC)

Possible ban evasion?

Hey, I know that I've got little to back up this accusation, but I'm suspecting that Peachy petal may be an alt account of Midorikawa hina made in order to circumvent her current block. They joined the wiki a little while ago and started making baseless additions to the personality sections of several baby Tamagotchi's pages - all of them being ones that Midorikawa has "improved" in the past, and those edits seem particularly similar to her writing style. Is there any chance that you would be able to investigate? Azureinferno (talk) 23:20, June 30, 2020 (UTC)

Yeah, comparing the edits, it's definitely the same person with the same writing style. I've banned them again for both false information and ban evasion. Thank you for the heads up. Osumesu21 (talk) 01:59, July 1, 2020 (UTC)

Hi Wolf Nanakai, Can we be friends?

Wolf Nanakai, I'm back and I want to be friends. Leave messages in my chat at least once a week. As long as you do not ban me, we will be friends. Midorikawa hina (talk) 23:12, July 10, 2020 (UTC)

Hello. Unfortunately, I noticed that the moment your ban expired, you began the same bad habits of leaving personal headcanons in character description pages. As this Wiki is dedicated to gathering and sharing factual information, this is unacceptable behavior. Fan works can be posted on other sites, such as DeviantArt or Fanfiction.net, but are not acceptable here. Furthermore, it is unacceptable to try to coerce people with the promise of friendship in order to perpetuate bad behavior, especially since you've already been warned of the rules and consequences of your actions. Osumesu21 (talk) 15:57, July 12, 2020 (UTC)

Book scans

Hi! I noticed that on a few pages of the wiki, you had put scans of the Tamagotchi Research Report book! If it's alright to ask, how much of the book has been scanned? Tamagotchicornershop (talk) 20:17, July 12, 2020 (UTC)

Hello. Technically due to copyright reasons, I can't scan and upload the entirety of the book. But I will be scanning certain sections of it for certain articles. Osumesu21 (talk) 14:34, July 13, 2020 (UTC)

Evatchi sprites

Hey, I've just seen that you uploaded a bunch of Evatchi sprites to your Twitter last week. All but one in that tweet are currently on the character page on the wiki - the outlier being the sprite in the bottom right. Do you know who that is? It looks like an Eva unit, but I can't tell which one it is - though my best guess would be 01. My first go to reaction was that it was Adam, but now I'm doubting that because the sprite doesn't resemble the only non-embryonic depiction it's ever been given.

I'd like to add the sprite to the character page if it is ok with you, but I'm not sure as to where to put it. I'd been expecting the roster to be all of the Angels plus Rei and Kaworu (under the assumption that Tabris would be represented by Kaworu in his school uniform) when they announced the size, but seeing an Eva that isn't Bardiel has come to me as a complete surprise. Though, I was guilty of originally putting Ireul down as the MAGI system because I was used to the Angel being associated with the simulation bodies. Now I feel like I should've just categorised the Angels as adults from the start when I made that character page last month, the lack of an arbitrary stage naming would've made this a lot easier to dither about...

That aside, where should this Eva go? If the promo site is any indication, Rei and Kaworu are the device's special characters. Do you want me to wait until we find out who the two remaining adults are (and furthermore until the growth requirements for more characters are discovered) before shoving it in there? Azureinferno (talk) 21:00, July 16, 2020 (UTC)

Hey. Yeah, I saw that someone had obtained that character on Twitter and I captured its sprite, but my own reluctance as exactly how to categorize it stopped me from uploading it here. The person who posted the images and video (the video shows its closeup sprite to be the EVA-01 unit) didn't say how they got it. It's tough, but since this is an entirely new Tamagotchi with completely new growth methods different from any other Nano model, there's a lot that needs to be pieced together.
To add to that, Bandai Japan started posting some hints about the evolution requirements on the Tamagotchi Twitter, confirming that leaving the cocoon for longer influences growth, and also revealing that some of the adult angels evolve further into secret characters. See here and here. As far as I'm aware, nobody has achieved these either. I'm excited to learn all this but it's also kind of daunting in a way.
For now, my suggestion would be to leave EVA-01 at the bottom of the growth chart with its stage left blank, and as we get more information, we'll find it a proper category. Osumesu21 (talk) 02:16, July 17, 2020 (UTC)
Wow, this device seems to have a really neat evo system, even by the standards of modern-era releases! It's reminding me of how evolution was handled on the Mini. From what I've seen from what's been added to the page, at least four Angels fit into the 3-4 hour incubation period, while from the tweets it's four for the 4-8 group and five for the 8+ group. Just gotta figure out the incubation periods for Bardiel and Zeruel, though I doubt it's either of the longer ones because of the tweets. I've seen a couple of videos on YouTube about people recording how they got their Angels, several of which include Bardiel, but I haven't seen any mention of how long they let the cocoons incubate.
I wonder if every incubation period group has a special evolution? If Rei and Kaworu are indeed third stage characters like the other hidden ones, I'd suspect that they'd evolve from their respective Seeds of Life. From what I can see, those blurred-out sprites sorta resemble some of the Rebuild-exclusive Angels. I was afraid that they wouldn't make it in, but if it really is them that that's awesome. Really wish Khara would give them actual names at some point, though. It'd make it a lot easier to categorise (let alone mention) them.
Anyhow, thanks for giving me the A-OK. I'll go and add Unit-01 to the bottom of the list in a little while. Azureinferno (talk) 05:47, July 17, 2020 (UTC)

Image Editing

Quick dumb question. What editing software do you use to outline a image in white? Like on the updated wiki logo you just made. What I use always comes out blocky rather than perfectly curved. --NeoMame (talk) 16:16, July 27, 2020 (UTC)

Hello. I had used Photoshop to make the logo. I use the "outer stroke" visual effect, and it automatically generates an outline around the image. Osumesu21 (talk) 16:26, July 27, 2020 (UTC)

Top-level Category Rename

Unless you have an objection, I'm going to be renaming [[Category:Browse]] to [[Category:{{SITENAME}}]] and updating any links as required on this wiki. According to Fandom's internal research, this provides a little boost to SEO over the more generic names such as Browse, Content, Wiki content, Game, etc.

If you already have a category by that name, it will become the top-level category and things in Browse will move under it. Sound like a plan? Let me know if you have any questions. You may, of course, opt out if you wish. —Moviesign (talk) 19:56, August 5, 2020 (UTC)

Hello. That sounds great to me, thank you. Osumesu21 (talk) 20:01, August 5, 2020 (UTC)
