Watawatatchi (わたわたっち Watawatatchi) is a female adult Tamagotchi character. She first appeared on the Tamagotchi iD L and the second version of the Tamagotchi Nano. She also appears in the Tamagotchi! anime as a student in Mametchi's class.
Name Origin[]
Watawatatchi's name comes from wata, the Japanese word for cotton.
Appearance[]
Watawatatchi has light yellow skin, pink cheeks, and small dark eyes. She wears a white cotton dress and doesn't have visible legs. Her Tama Pet sits on her head, which is white and fluffy with small dark eyes and a yellow beak, as well as two long arms which look like they are Watawatachi's ears.
Personality[]
Watawatatchi is a shy, caring Tamagotchi. She loves relaxing and fluffy things. She gets easily nervous while talking to other Tamagotchis, and blushes a lot. However, she is very sociable when talking to animals.
She has the power to talk to Tamagotchi animals and Tama Pets, such as Doremitchi who can only say Kyu (きゅ) using their own language. She is often seen talking to forest animals such as birds.
The Tama Pet on her head can only say wata wata (わたわた), an onomatopoeia (sound) word, and sometimes speaks while waving its arms after Watawatatchi finishes speaking. It sometimes matches her expressions as well. Watawatatchi also can hover in the air for short periods of time when her Tama Pet flaps its arms.
She ends most of her sentences with wata (わた). She also considers Youmotchi friend as her friend, saying that he is fluffy and sweet like her tama pet.

Watawatatchi is a special adult on the version 2. She evolves from Choribotchi after 24 hours if the game is won at least 40 times.
Tamagotchi m!x[]
Watawatatchi appears as a potential marriage partner on every version of the m!x. She appears at Rainbow Hills on every version except for the Sanrio version, where she appears at Twin Stars Land instead. Her favorite items are:

Tamagotchi On[]
During the first generation, Watawatatchi evolves from any female teen with 7 or more care mistakes. In other generations, her genes will appear from said parameters being met by female My Tamas, even without Watawatatchi parentage. She has thus become a neglect-exclusive character in this game, much like Gozarutchi, her male care-counterpart.
As a potential marriage partner, Watawatatchi appears at the Tama Farm on the Magic, Fairy, Sanrio, and Fantasy versions. On the Pastel version, she appears at the Tama Resort Hotel instead. Her favorite items are:

Tamagotchi Smart[]
Watawatatchi is a raisable adult exclusive to the Rainbow Friends TamaSma Card. She can be obtained by feeding any female teen the Spongy Bread meal the most out of the other card's foods. Watawatatchi also appears as a NPC in the Square during autumn.
In the Anime[]
Tamagotchi![]
Watawatachi enrolls in Tamagotchi School with other Tamagotchi iD L characters in "New Members? To Class Suddenly". She struggles to introduce herself to the class until Pompomtchi encourages her by cheering her on. She has a main role in "Watawata! Communicate! Watawatatchi" where she helps Mametchi's friends understand what Doremitchi and Sopratchi are trying to say to them. They learn that Melodytchi is in the forest with a sprained leg so Watawatatchi talks to the animals living there to figure out her location and later asks some birds to transport Melodytchi to the hospital.
She is called for help again in "Cute! Lost Rubytchi" when Mametchi and friends find Rubytchi and want to return her back to her owner. Watawatatchi speaks with her and tells everyone that Rubytchi is thirsty and will only drink if spoon-fed milk. She then joins everyone as they follow Rubytchi around town as she looks for her owner. In "Good Luck! Big Tama Pet Race" she is one of the commentator's for the Tama Pet race, being introduced by MC Puppetchi as an expert on Tama Pets.

Trivia[]
- In the Tamagotchi m!x and Tamagotchi On, a small tuff of white fur can be seen on top of her head if the Tama Pet is removed during the next generations.
- The voice for the Tama Pet on top of Watawatachi was never credited.
- In the Tamagotchi On, she can ask the user's Tamagotchi if they had seen a cotton plant and wishes that they could be found in Rainbow Hills, her former location on the tamagotchi m!x.
