What's a Tamagotchi? is a song featured exclusively on the Tamagotchi Video Adventures VHS. It is based on the "Now Museum, Now You Don't" movie short also featured on the VHS, and the music video features footage from the cartoon as well as additional visuals. The song is roughly 4 minutes and 15 seconds.

- Mametchi and Tarakotchi are referred to as females, despite not having specified genders until the Chou Jinsei Enjoi Tamagotchi Plus and Tamagotchi Connection Version 4.
- Takotchi is also referred to as female, but does not have a specified gender even in the modern era.
- Bill's part in the music video references former US president Bill Clinton, depicting him in front of a US flag with the lyrics saying he is running for office. The next lines also reference the controversy that had occurred during the president's run.
- Ginjirotchi's part in the music video mentions "blue suede shoes", the title of one of Elvis Presley's famous songs.
- Some of the animation in the music video is reused in the Tamagotchi CD-ROM game which was also developed by 7th Level Entertainment, the company behind Tamagotchi Video Adventures.
