What Are You Looking For? (探しものはなんですか? Sagashimono wa nandesu ka?) is the 100th episode of the original Tamagotchi! anime.
Synopsis[]
The Tama-Friends go to the library to find out about Tama Hearts. There, they meet a mysterious old lady who is looking for a collection of poems by a Tamagotchi she encountered long ago. The Tama-Friends will help her look for the book. [1]
Plot[]
The Tama-Friends visit Mametchi's house so they can go to the library to learn more about Tama Hearts. However, Chamametchi informs them that he went ahead to the library by himself so everyone makes their way to join him there. Along the way, they walk through a park and Telelin falls out of Lovelitchi's bag and bounces off an old lady there. She apologizes and the old lady is unbothered by it, continuing to watch a tree in front of her.
At the library, the Tama-Friends meet up with Mametchi and proceed to search for books about Tama Hearts. However, no one is able to find anything and eventually, everyone but Mametchi gets distracted with reading other books for fun. Meanwhile, the Spacy Brothers sneak into the restricted part of the library thinking that a book on world domination must be somewhere in there. They run into book shaped robots which terrify them and eventually give chase after them, wanting to throw them out for trespassing. Back at the main part of the library, Lovelitchi notices a Tamagotchi checking out a book from the back section and Mametchi explains that the computer system and book robots keep track of all the books in the section, taking out books for Tamagotchis that specifically request them.
As Lovelitchi continues looking for Tama Heart books she bumps into the old lady from before. The lady greets her and the two go outside to sit on a bench. She explains that she is looking for a book of poems written by a Tamagotchi that she met and fell in love with a long time ago. However, she hasn't been able to find the book yet because she doesn't know its title, only one of the poems within it. Lovelitchi decides that she wants to help her and enlists the help of the Tama-friends to search the library for the book.
Meanwhile, the librarian at the information desk laments about the computer system not working and Mametchi decides to help repair it. As he fixes the circuitry, the Spacy Brothers become cornered by the book robots and are captured by them. The robots take them to the window they used to sneak in and throw them out, with the brothers landing into a nearby fountain. The Tama-friends meet up with Mametchi again and after explaining the situation, Mametchi uses the computer system to find the old lady's book. The system finds the book using the poem the old lady remembers and takes it out for her.
She opens the book to the poem and reads it out loud. In the flashback showing her encounter with the poet, it's revealed that while the two seemed to have feelings for each other they didn't act on them, choosing to walk past each other instead. When she finishes reading it, she thanks the group for helping her remember the poet and a Kizuna Tama Heart appears above them and goes into Lovelitchi's Tama Profy. This gives Mametchi the idea to use the system to find a Tama Heart book and after two tries, the system gives him a book called "The History of Tama Desert". He reads the book and says that an ancient tribe had once been close with Tama Hearts, using a big one to keep their crops healthy. The group then decide that they must make the journey to Tama Desert to learn more about Tama Hearts.

Trivia[]
- It is implied that the mysterious poet has passed away; Tama Hearts appear when a special bond is formed between Tamagotchis, and a Tama Heart appears when the old lady hugs his poetry book. At the end of the episode, autumn leaves blow past her (just like on the day she met him) and a single star is shown in the sky.
- Despite this, the poet is revealed to be alive in "To The • Earth! Goodbye, Tomomi" as they are seen with the Old Lady at Tomomi's goodbye party. They are now old aged and seem to have reconnected with her.
- The poem the poet Tamagotchi was writing when the old lady first met him is called Same Breeze (おなじかぜ Onaji Kaze).
