Which One? Thief Papillon Again (どっち？怪盗パピヨン再び Docchi? Kaitō Papiyon futatabi) is part one of episode 31 of Tamagotchi!.
Synopsis[]
The phantom Thief Papillon leaves a note saying, "I am stealing the national treasure of Very Rich Kingdom!" Will Detective Anpan be able to arrest Thief Papillon this time!?[1]
Plot[]
The episodes opens on Police Officers Memetchi and Kuchipatchi debriefing the team on a possible new case, with Memetchi getting angry at Kuchipatchi for eating while doing his report. Gozarutchi jumps down with a note from Thief Papillon, stating her intent to steal a treasure from Boss Madeleine Kirie Dotchine' museum.
At the museum, Boss Madeleine talks about the new treasure her museum just got in which a golden jewel banana from the kingdom of Celebria. Detective Anpan tells Boss Madeleine that he has secured every entrance and exit of the museum and is determined to keep Thief Papillon away from the banana. When Kuchipatchi sees the banana and tries to eat it, he triggers the security system and is immediately caged up, to Memetchi's annoyance. After Kuchipatchi is freed, Detective Anpan declares that Thief Papillon will not beat him this time.
The scene changes to an airport where the royal King Kikitchi and Princess Chamametchi exits an airplane. As the royals introduce themselves, Dreamitchi intervenes and asks who the police team are. Once they respond, Dreamitchi introduces himself as an assistant to the royals. On the ride back to museum, Dreamitchi warns Detective Anpan about how determined Thief Papillon is and how she will stop at nothing to take what she targets. Anpan assures Dreamitchi that they are giving all they got to make sure that doesn't happen.
Back at the museum, the public goes inside to see the exhibits and treasures. As Detective Anpan watches over everything, Princess Chamametchi complements him which makes him blush. She suddenly gives him a kiss on the cheek, causing him to become flustered. Just then, a scream is heard out and Detective Anpan tells Detective Gozarutchi to watch the cameras while he runs to the source. On the way there, Princess Chamametchi follows him, wanting to help in apprehending Thief Papillon.
When they enter the room where the scream was heard, Thief Papillon is seen with King Kikitchi, having tied him up and taken him as hostage. She asks for the banana in exchange for the King and Kikitchi tells everyone to get her. Princess Chamametchi then jumps up and slams into Thief Papillon, giving Detective Anpan an opportunity to free King Kikitchi. King Kikitchi asks how Chamametchi was able to do that, and she responds by taking off her mask and revealing herself as the real Thief Papillon. Everyone is in shock by this revelation and the real Thief Papillon jumps back after tying down the fake one and removing the mask to reveal the fake as Dreamitchi. Forensic Officer Kuromametchi then calls Detective Anpan to tell him that the note Thief Papillon left behind was not written by her as the handwriting is different.
Thief Papillon explains that she worked with Princess Chamametchi to stop Dreamitchi from kidnapping the King as she did not want any danger to come to the king while he was held hostage by Dreamitchi. She further explains that she cares about the people of Tamagotchi Town and knew that if something bad were to happen to the king, it would negatively affect the people. As the police team ponder the situation, Thief Papillon escapes in her boat and avoids the police force in the lake by turning her boat into a plane and flying away. As Detective Anpan angrily shouts at her, he discovers a small speaker on his cap where she teases him for letting her get away. A flashback reveals that she had placed it on him while kissing him as Princess Chamametchi.
