White Tamas, also known as Shirotamas (しろたまズ Shirotamazu), are a type of Tamagotchi who debuted on the Tamagotchi Smart in Japan, and on the Tamagotchi Uni internationally.
They are typically used as non-player characters and can be seen performing jobs or appearing during various animations, essentially taking the role previously held by the Royal Servants.
Name Origin[]
The Japanese name Shirotama comes from the Japanese words "Shiroi", meaning white, and "Tama" from the word "Tamago", meaning egg.
Appearance[]
White Tamas resemble white eggs with arms and legs. They have two locks of hair on the top of their head and an orange beak.
Personality[]
White Tamas are fluffy little friends that are a common sight in Smart Town. They are often seen participating at events, visiting the workplace, and giving gifts.
On Virtual Pets[]
Tamagotchi Smart[]
White Tamas appear throughout the Tamagotchi Smart as NPCs. They can be encountered in the Square where they'll give a seasonal picture frame for use in photos. They can also randomly appear in the Tamagotchi's porch where they'll gift an item if the user accepts the item. White Tamas also appear in various item and dating animations.
When a collaboration TamaSma Card is linked with the user's Smart, a White Tama dressed up to match its theme will appear to greet the user's Tamagotchi.
Tamagotchi Uni[]
White Tamas appear on the Tamagotchi Uni as NPCs in games and item animations. They also appear throughout the Tamaverse as NPCs with one greeting the Tamagotchi at most activities that can be done there.
Tamagotchi Paradise[]
White Tamas are NPCs who appear in various forms. Some appear as caretakers on New Tamagotchi Planet, with one cleaning up poop in the "Catching Poop" minigame, and another acting as a babysitter when the Tama Sitter option is selected. Others fulfill certain roles, with some dressed as hunters who are able to assist the user's Tamagotchi during Egg Hunt, and another appearing as a chef when cooking recipes or when playing the "Matching Meals!" minigame.
In Animated Media[]
Tamagotchi Official Shorts[]
White Tamas appear in a few episodes of the Tamagotchi Official Shorts series. In "I Must Bloom Where I Have Been Planted de Gozaru", a mermaid White Tama appears in Gozarutchi's room. The human-like dancing White Tama from the Tamagotchi Uni is featured in "That DANCING Dude" where they dance with Kuchipatchi. In "The Poop Collectors", several White Tamas are seen collecting poo to use a biofuel for a spaceship.
When a meteor is on the path to New Tamagotchi Planet in "The End of New Tamagotchi Planet", a White Tama reports on the situation
