Wooltchi (うーるっち Ūrutchi) is a male Tamagotchi who debuted on the Keitai Kaitsuu! Tamagotchi Plus in Japan, and on the Tamagotchi Connection Version 2 internationally.
While originally introduced as a costume transformation exclusive to Kurokotchi, Wooltchi appears on all English releases as a standalone adult—and in some cases, alongside Kurokotchi—as well as on a few Japanese releases.
Name Origin[]
Wooltchi's name comes from the English word "wool", a textile fiber obtained from sheep. His Japanese name comes from the word "uru", which translates to "wool".
Appearance[]
Wooltchi resembles Kurokotchi wearing sheep's wool all over his body, leaving only his face and limbs visible, as well as two small, black ears on top. Wooltchi that originate from Makkakka Town have a red outline, and his face's color is a warm shade of purple.
Personality[]
A costumed Tamagotchi that takes on a bright and cheerful persona. However, he is fundamentally still Kurokotchi in a disguise. Kurokotchi's normal demeanor is silent and introverted, but in the Wooltchi costume, Kurokotchi's taciturn personality changes completely.

Keitai Kaitsuu! Tamagotchi Plus / Akai[]
Wooltchi is a costume character that can only be obtained by putting the "Wool" costume item on Kurokotchi. Once applied, Kurokotchi will remain as Wooltchi until the costume is removed by selecting the Wool from the item menu again. Wooltchi sleeps from 11 PM to 10 AM.
Tamagotchi Connection Version 2 / Version 3[]
Wooltchi is a Frail adult that can be obtained on even generations. Wooltchi has no defined gender, goes to bed at 9 P.M. and wakes up at 9 A.M. Its favorite food is crackers on the Version 2, and pie on the Version 3. On both versions, it dislikes omelettes.
Tamagotchi Music Star[]
Wooltchi can sometimes be seen in the crowd when the Tamagotchi's band performs at a concert.

Wooltchi is a male adult, generally obtained from good care with medium to high training.
Tamagotchi Smart[]
Wooltchi is a raisable adult exclusive to the Kei-Tama TamaSma Card for the Tamagotchi Smart. He is obtained from any male teen by playing with the Cotton item the most out of other card content.
Tamagotchi Connection (2024)[]
Wooltchi is a gender-neutral adult who appears on even generations as a Frail adult, which can generally be obtained with 2-3+ physical care misses, but less than 2-3 mental care misses. It sleeps from 9 PM to 9 AM, its favorite food is Apple Pie, and its least favorite food is Omelets.

Kurokotchi[]

Kurokotchi (くろこっち Kurokotchi) is Wooltchi's normal form when not wearing a costume; though, both could be considered alter egos of each other. On the Keitai Kaitsuu! Tamagotchi Plus, it can change between Wooltchi and Kurokotchi using the Cotton item. In other appearances, Kurokotchi can sometimes be seen or raised as an entirely separate character than Wooltchi. Kurokotchi is very shy and reserved compared to its costume counterpart.
Aka Wooltchi[]
Aka Wooltchi (あかうーるっち Aka Ūrutchi) is the Akai counterpart of Wooltchi and a costume form unique to Aka Kurokotchi. It has the same reddish-purple face as Aka Kurokotchi, and it is obtained in the same way as Wooltchi from the Keitai.
Aka Kurokotchi[]
Aka Kurokotchi (あかくろこっち Aka Kurokotchi) is the Akai counterpart of Kurokotchi who appears on the Keitai Kaitsuu! Tamagotchi Plus Akai. It strongly resembles Kurokotchi, but its body is a reddish-purple with a red outline. It is a resident of Makkakka Town.

- Despite Wooltchi and Kurokotchi being the same character, both are separate raisable characters on the Tamagotchi Connection Version 3.
- Similarly, both show up separately as customers in the Corner Shop series, as well as each having their own stamp card in the Customers List in Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop 2.
- Wooltchi appeared on the Tamagotchi iD L 15th Anniversary Version Character Poll as a male adult candidate. However, he did not get enough votes to be on the roster.
- On the Connection V2, V3 and 2024 rerelease, when connecting to another device, squiggle lines can be seen when Wooltchi jumps off screen instead of the usual puff cloud. It shares this distinction with most other Frail and Stubborn adults.
