This episode, along with the second half "Let's Celebrate! Tama-Beans Festival", were later rebroadcast as the fifth episode of the season Tamagotchi! Tamatomo Daishuu GO.

Synopsis[]

Chamametchi tries to make friends with an octopus-shaped wiener in her class, but the very shy octopus-shaped wiener runs away immediately after talking to her. Can she befriend them?

Plot[]

Kikitchi and Sabusabutchi play-fight with brooms while Kumattatchi and Gourmetchi talk about fried chicken. Chamametchi, Akaspetchi, and Pipospetchi remind everyone to clean the classroom and they all get busy cleaning. Chamametchi looks behind herself and sees an octopus-like tamagotchi who's been sweeping the floor the entire time.

In a flashback, Mr. Dentaku presents the class with a math problem that no one seems to be able to answer. The octopus-like tamagotchi then raises her hand and gives the answer, impressing him and revealing that her name is Octodogtchi. Back to the present, Chamametchi notes that Octodogtchi is quiet, but very focused on her studies and gets good grades. She decides to befriend her, but Kikitchi states that Octodogtchi is shy and doesn't really talk to anyone.

At the end of the school day, Chamametchi looks back in her classroom before leaving. She notices Octodogtchi by herself carrying something and tries to talk to her. However, Octodogtchi is spooked and ends up running away. Chamametchi chases after her, but loses sight of her after stopping to take a breath at Principal Mimizu's statue. Kikitchi goes up to Chamametchi reiterating that Octodogtchi won't talk to anybody, but she is determined to get to know her. Mametchi, Memetchi, and Kuchipatchi then show up to ask them about a grass shaped paper they found on the ground. After Chamametchi and Kikitchi deny owning it the group starts thinking about what the grass paper is for.

Kuchipatchi thinks it's a musical instrument, Memetchi says it's a tropical crown, and Mametchi suggests it's a camouflage tool used by Gozarutchi. Chamametchi then states that it must be for lunchboxes and everyone else clarifies that she means "bento grass", a decorative lunch ornament. Kuchipatchi notes that the bento grass is too big for a lunchbox and the gang imagine themselves as food in a giant bento box. Eventually, Mametchi suggests figuring out who owns the bento grass and tells Chamametchi to ask Octodogtchi about it.

The next day at Chamametchi's classroom, Chamametchi brings the bento grass to Octodogtchi and asks if it's hers. Unfortunately, Octodogtchi is still spooked and blushes intensely before running away again. She makes it to the Principal Mimizu statue where the gang is hiding; they make a line to stop her from getting away, but she just runs past the other side of the statue. Kikitchi goes ahead to track her down and the rest of the group follow him. Octodogtchi is seen going inside an apartment building and Kikitchi points out to the arriving group that it's her house. They watch Octodogtchi through an open window and she talks to herself, saying that she doesn't want to be shy. Chamametchi tries moving closer to hear her, but falls through the window. She picks herself up and shows the bento grass again, asking if it's hers. Octodogtchi finally responds and says that she lost it, going up to her to take it back. Chamametchi then asks what the grass is for and Octodogtchi intensely blushes and hides behind furniture. As she peeks out, Chamametchi asks if she's okay.

The gang leaves the apartment and Chamametchi becomes worried that she might have hurt Octodogtchi's feelings. The gang cheers her up by saying that she gave the bento grass back and Mametchi suggests talking to her tomorrow. As they get farther away, Octodogtchi nervously watches them. The next day, she approaches Chamametchi and thanks her for returning the bento grass. She tells her to come to TAMAX-TV, which Chamametchi questions, causing Octodogtchi to become nervous and run away again. Kikitchi comes over and asks what went wrong and Chamametchi is unsure of what happened. Later on, the gang go to TAMAX-TV and notice a dance contest being held. They go to the stage and overhear two people excited for the next dancer who is known for their spectacular dance. Mametchi asks who the girl is and the show immediately starts.

Two hosts on stage introduce the next dancer: Octodogtchi. Everyone is surprised at seeing her on stage and she begins to dance, hopping and gracefully spinning around. Chamametchi realizes that she's wearing the bento grass from earlier and notes that it's her costume. She eventually finishes with a big flourish and the gang along with the audience give her applause. Octodogtchi wins the contest and Chamametchi congratulates her for getting first place. She responds that she needed her costume for the dance and thanks Chamametchi for helping her out. Mametchi then says that the two have become good tama-friends and the rest of the gang agrees.
